The Corporate Development team at Chase is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships across Chase's consumer lines of business - Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These partnerships are critical to Chase's ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. Developing these partnerships requires careful strategic consideration as well as a relentless focus on execution, and we are looking for smart, dynamic people who can deliver at Chase in the Digital Partnerships team.
Digital Partnerships team - The Digital Payments and Lending Partnerships team is responsible for digital payments and lending partnerships for Chase's consumer businesses. The team has three primary functions: 1) determine the partnership strategies for large tech platforms and fintechs, 2) evaluate, negotiate and execute payments and lending partnerships, and 3) manage ongoing relationships with large tech platforms externally and firmwide.
The Vice President role will work closely with Chase's senior-most executive leaders to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what partnerships will deliver value for Chase's customers. We are looking for candidates that have outstanding analytic skills, are capable project managers, can build strong relationships, and have a passion for consumer financial services.
Job responsibilities:
Lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic payments and lending partnerships with large tech players and fintechs
Support management of ongoing relationships with large tech platforms both externally as well as firmwide
Develop consumer payments and lending partnership strategies for Chase's largest tech platform partners
Work with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnerships
Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners
Ensure all deals are executed in accordance with policies, controls and Corporate Development procedures
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Minimum 4 + years industry experience, preferably across digital, banking, financial services and/or payments
BS degree or equivalent experience required
Management consulting, investment banking, or PE/VC experience preferred
Intellectual curiosity and a passion for financial services
Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment
A track record of successfully executed partnerships and/or strategic alliance development
Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong project management skills and able to achieve results within demanding timelines
Experienced people manager with innate interest in mentorship and helping others develop their career
Able to build strong relationships inside and outside the company
Proven experience working in large cross-functional organizations
