Our client a growing REIT is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their firm. We are seeking a meticulous individual to oversee the company’s financial records and lead an accounting team. The role involves maintaining financial procedures and controls, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for our investment funds and affiliated entities. Responsibilities:
Conduct technical accounting research, implement and adhere to GAAP and SEC rules/regulations.
Handle internal and external reporting.
Lead Month End Close Activities.
Review fund consolidated financial statements prepared by the Director of SEC Reporting.
Ensure accuracy and proper disclosures in 10-Q’s, 10-K’s, 8-K’s.
Maintain internal books (GL) and analyze financial transactions.
Ensure compliance with SEC, IRS, lenders, and various government agencies.
Collaborate with the Controller on strategic planning, forecasting, and team development.
Participate in the annual corporate budgeting process.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field and 5+ years’ experience as a controller.
CPA, SEC reporting experience, and strong GAAP knowledge.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent team leadership skills.
REIT, Real Estate, or Hospitality industry experience is a plus, but not required.
Public accounting audit experience is also a plus.

Month-end Close Activities experience highly desired
SEC Reporting experience
Financial reporting experience required
External reporting experience
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Efficient in ERP systems
