Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Chemical Operations Manufacturing Technician II position located in the Corinth, MS facility . This position will provide support for Chemical Operations in the execution of project implementation and daily support of the operations team as warranted to ensure production Value Stream goals are met in PQVC.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Operator should have attention to detail, self-motivated and work in a team environment that at times is self-directed.
Cross train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility within the Chemical Operations Support Tech 2 classification scope.
Work to prevent water, air, and soil pollution as a byproduct of facility processes or equipment.
Monitor controlling and regulating equipment used for waste treatment and HVAC condensation or byproducts.
Ensure facility-wide compliance with relevant ISO 14001 Standards and EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations, as well as proactive planning and implementation of relevant activities to prevent water, air and soil pollution as byproducts of production at the Caterpillar facilities.
Troubleshoot and correct issues as it pertains to chemical baths, corrosion prevention, and wastewater treatment operations.
Perform chemical titrations, refractometry, cleanliness audits and oil analysis so the remanufactured engines adhere to strict quality guidelines.
Perform daily equipment audits and perform countermeasures as needed.
Operate equipment such as fork trucks, sump vacuums, floor scrubbers, stock chasers and personnel lifts as part of maintenance of the washers.
Read and interpret blueprints as needed for the performance of Cleanliness Audits.
Ensure that contamination control best practices are followed and adhered to.
Perform chemical bath washer maintenance, detail booth maintenance, downdraft table maintenance and dust collector maintenance on production machines that includes changing filters, changing of cleaning chemicals, and cleaning out dust evacuation equipment.
Shovel debris from pits and troughs
Provide emergency spill response and become a first responder to ensure other employees are kept safe during an emergency.
Perform container management; daily audits for secondary containments, outfalls, and water flowmeters; keep secondary containment dry; and 5S to keep MS Reman in compliance with RCRA, SWPP and SPCCC regulations.
Perform tank farm maintenance that includes oversight of the loading/unloading of chemical tankers, emptying secondary containment, transferring wastewater to/from reserve tanks and 5s.
Perform wastewater analysis and treatment.
Provide oversight during the loading and unloading of chemical tanker trucks.
Must be flexible to work out of multiple locations in both Corinth and Prentiss.
Must be flexible in hours across all shifts and facilities as coverage and business demands.
May be required to report to work for after-hours emergencies and respond appropriately.
Flexibility to work overtime on short notice – may be required to work alternative shifts as business demands
Operate service equipment vehicles, forklifts, service buggies, personnel lifts, boom-lifts, integrated tool lifts and company provided automotive vehicles.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 12 months manufacturing experience
Microsoft Office experience in applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
Top Candidate Will Also Have
Environmental background
Chemical, Business, Economic or Advanced Chemistry college courses
Ability to read and understand precision gauges
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems, recognizing the need for support and creating teams to accomplish task if necessary
Previous experience in continuous improvement in products and processes and/or improvements to Standard Work
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a hazardous waste physical examination.
Must be able to pass a respirator physical examination and fit test.
Must be able to pass forklift or other types of mobile equipment training.
Must have a valid driver’s license to operate company provided automotive vehicles.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, climb steps, stoop, crouch, work in pits, work in confined spaces, able to look in microscopes and measure particles in microscopes.
Must be able to pass the 24 hours Hazwoper training, IATA, 49 CFR, Hazarous Material shipping by water and RCRA training within 6 months of assignment
Job Bid Eligibility Requirements:

Compensation & Benefits Offered!
Starting hourly pay rate of $20.20 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)
Work Hours: 6AM – 4PM; Monday - Thursday
40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)
10 Paid holidays
