Role description:
This is an Associate position within the Mexico Portfolio Management Group. The candidate will report to the MASS Mexico Core PM Head. Candidate will be part of a wide array of portfolio management activities as part of a team operating different strategies providing data solutions and research to portfolio managers.
Primary responsibilities:
Act as a fiduciary by taking ownership for safely handling our client's money in an accurate manner.Safe and efficient management of client portfolios, comprising fixed income, FX and other derivatives, ETFs, funds, corporate securities, etc.Perform portfolio management tasks including handling cash flow allocations, portfolio rebalancing, and monitoring of positions, performance, and risk.Develop and improve our processes for portfolio and risk management in a scalable and risk-controlled manner.Apply technology, automation, and analytical tools to improve processes and build scale.Work on projects to develop and onboard new portfolios for our clients and increase opportunities to do collaborative work with our colleagues globally.Participate in research related to Mexico Fixed Income, multi-asset portfolios and other investment topics and meetings to share views with peers.Evaluate performance attribution and communicate market/portfolio performance.Work with different teams such as Business Operations, Risk, Systems, and other platform teams to drive operational improvements and participate in overall systems, investment, and trading operational improvements.
Skills, experience, and education:
Market practitioner with demonstrated ability in portfolio management and expertise in financial services or related industry and passion for financial markets.Knowledge or experience in a range of instruments and markets such as ETFs and other fund vehicles, derivatives, FX, rates, Fixed Income and Money market.Knowledge of portfolio management theory, understanding of macro- and micro-economic concepts is desirable.Qualified in a scientific degree such as Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics.Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to remain passionate about different portfolio types and activities.Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ideally gained from within a mathematic, econometrics, or statistics environment.Proficient using Python, R, VBA, SQL, Tableau or other languages or tools.Familiarity with market data tools like Bloomberg and proficiency in MS Office applications.Familiarity with Aladdin portfolio management tools (PfC, PfM, ATC, Trade Entry, etc.) is highly valued.Flexible, adaptable, and self-starting personality. Confirmed experience working both independently and as part of a team.Capacity to work in an ambitious environment, often to time specific deadlines with relative autonomy.Ability to multi-task and collaborate within a team environment.Excellent quantitative and empirical research skills.Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.Very strong proficiency in English (oral and written communication
