Position: Coordinator of Student Well-BeingThe Coordinator of Student Well-Being will support the development,provision, and promotion of all Mental Health/Well-Being programs andservices at Trinidad State College, with a primary focus on the student. TheCoordinator will serve as the organizational resource manager for the MentalHealth/Well-Being Office on both the Trinidad and Valley campuses, toensure that TSC's mission, vision, and treatment philosophy areconsistently implemented in all support service programs. The Coordinator willalso manage student referral processes daily while displaying strong businessacumen and empathy for students.
Must: REQUIRED:Must have an associate degree in psychology, social work, or related field f rom an accredited college or university.Valid Driver License.Experience living and working in a rural community.1-3 years' experience in any combination of the following:1. Clinical Psychology or related field2. School Psychology or related field3. Counseling Psychology or related field4. Cognitive/Behavioral Psychology or related fieldOther Requisite NeedsPossess diplomacy, tact, and a commitment to strict discretion withconfidential student information.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate withstudents, parents, and familiesand collaborate effectively with campus partners.Possess strong customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promotinginclusivity required.Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.Strong public speaking skills.Self -starter who is comfortable working with diverse populations.Must be outgoing and willing to interact with prospective students in avariety of settings.
Skills/Duties: Manage a caseload of students through ongoing assessmentof individualized resource and access based needs; execute skill buildingand case management for identified or interested students.As appropriate, meet with students for TSC's Behavioral InterventionTeam (BIT) to obtain information concerning BIT referrals.Triage student crises and support TSC campus emergency protocols alongsideBIT peers and local community mental health agenciesHelp build and solidify referral networks with local community mentalhealth agencies to support students in seeking individual or groupcounseling, consultation around mental health concerns, and advice,guidance, or input around mental health symptomology.Participate in scheduled meetings, specifically BIT meetings.Execute in-person classroom outreach regarding BIT functions,membership, and referral pathways as each semester commences to reinforcethe utilization and the strength of BIT's operations.Assure that contacts are established and maintained for each student(giving consent) in a courteous, professional manner to ensurecontinuity of care.Coordinate alongside BIT peers the interdisciplinary assessment processand develop an action plan which considers the identified urgency of thestudent referral.Follow up with students referred to BIT and carry out comprehensivereporting to demonstrate service action documentation.Remain informed of developments in theory and research related tocampus-based emergency response teams (BIT), student socialservice/resource provision, and evolving needs of adult learners.Adhere to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.Collaborate with on-campus service providers, educating and training theTSC community about health promotion and well-being, including serving asthe primary contact for orienting new students to offerings related to mentalhealth and well-being, as well as academic, financial, accessibility,security, and career related services.With supervisory support, develop, coordinate, facilitate, andassess educational workshops and presentations for students, faculty,staff, and administra ors.Coordinate college-wide programs campaigns and initiatives in partnershipwith colleagues , community partners, and the State of Colorado, such aswell-being fairs, the National Collegiate Health Assessment, CDHE'sHealthy Minds and Hunger Free Campus designations, Spark the Change MentalWellness Program, and others.Develop and coordinate workshops or panel discussions on a variety oftopics including mental health, self -care and developing coping, andresilience skills.Provide programming which emphasizes open-minded ideals and does notdiscriminate based on individual lifestyle choice around sexual and romanticrelationship structure, contraceptive device use, or identity componentsand the identity exploration process; demonstrate a commitment to respectingand honoring diverse ideas, backgrounds, lifestyles, identities, and choices.Increase resource awareness, activity participation, and eventattendance through in-person and electronic outreach; design andappropriately disseminate promotional materials (printed and electronic)in accordance with TSC posting requirements and in coordination withsupervisor
Maintain record keeping, documents, reports, and routinecorrespondences in a timely manner with a rigorous commitment to discretionand confidentiality.Register with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA);abide by regulations and maintain registration status as required byrespectivePrioritize professional development in respective field by working towardeducational and relevant training advancements: Bachelor of arts/sciencein related field, Certified Addiction Technician/Specialist
