About Delta Cargo
Much as Delta Air Lines helps passengers reach their destinations, the Cargo division serves companies in the safe and efficient transport of a wide range of freight, including everything from mail to live animals and life-saving pharmaceuticals.
Different departments in the Cargo division provide rate information, sell cargo space in the belly of Delta's passenger aircraft, track & trace freight and resolve customer problems. Additionally, they safely move cargo from a warehouse location to airport ramp areas and ensure proper delivery onto the appropriate aircraft.
About Cargo Commercial
The Cargo Commercial team includes Global Sales, Product, Marketing/Communications, Sales Development, and Market Performance
The Delta Cargo team is seeking one co-op for the Commercial Sales Development team for a total of three full-time rotations based in Atlanta, GA (Spring 2024, Fall 2024, and Summer 2025).
Sales Development
Overall function and role: The Sales Development (SD) team is principally charged with aiding our Cargo Field Sellers with the analysis needed to enable their successful maintenance and growth of the Cargo business. SD also works closely with Revenue Management to provide the bid strategy needed for an advantageous outcome from our sales pipeline.
• Assist the Sales Development team with data analytics, revenue management coordination and reporting.
• Provide process improvement support to assist with RFP volumes, customer inquiries, and Seller Assignment management
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop new reporting and help support adoption of new tools
• Lead competitive research and Other Airline (OA) analysis to ensure Delta Cargo leaders are aware of all global industry changes which could potentially impact the marketplace
• Responsible for performing various statistical and quantitative analyses
• Continually refine and enhance the report creation process using automation, VBA/Macro development, to reduce time spent on repeatable tasks
• Responsible for creating PowerPoint presentations used in network and industry presentations
• Assist with report design and modification using various BI Tools (Hyperion Intelligence, IBM Cognos, Tableau, Microsoft, etc.)
• Assist with various requests from other division stakeholders
• Assist with account revenue forecasting and performance analysis
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
• Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution
• At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
• Must be available for 3 alternating semesters: Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Summer 2025
• Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op
Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of basic functionality skills in Tableau, SAS, SQL Developer, Alteryx, and Microsoft Office applications
• Candidate is team-oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong organizational, project management, problem solving skills, and verbal/written communication skills are essential ability to learn new skills is requiredConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
