Operations Support, Technology & Business Strategy Department
The department assists the entire Flight Operations Division through advancing technology applications and initiatives to drive the division's mission. The team also evaluates current work processes to identify and recommend business opportunities and supports technology
solutions that align with senior leadership's strategy to continuously improve the line pilot experience.
Flight Operations Business Strategy
The purpose of the Flight Operations Business Strategy department is to identify strategic opportunities that add value to the business and deliver an industry leading product to our pilots. This is accomplished by working closely with Flight Ops stakeholders to determine continuous improvement initiatives that drive quality outcomes across the department.
Co-Op Job Summary
The Co-Op will work at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a paid position, including additional privileges such as standby travel anywhere in the Delta system while off duty.The team currently operates on a hybrid schedule (i.e., in-person on campus for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays while Mondays and Fridays are virtual).The Co-Op will have exposure to other departments within Flight Operations, including but not limited to: Flight Training & Standards, Flying Operations, Line Operations, Crew Resources & Scheduling, Pilot Hiring & Development, and Simulator Support to learn about the industry and gain valuable life experience.The position requires three alternating semesters of full-time work at Delta with fulltime study (1 semester can be summer).We are seeking qualified, motivated individuals looking for an exceptional opportunity.
Co-Op Job Responsibilities
Actively participate in team activities that aim to holistically develop Co-OpsPartner with multiple divisional stakeholders in a Business Analyst role to define business/process improvement opportunities, assist with the development and maturation of recommended solutions, and implement initiative tracking methodologiesSupport Delta's global innovation initiative through applications of creative design concepts to evolve stakeholder approaches to problem and solution designSupport project leaders on technology programs with external vendors and Information Technology teams to identify and troubleshoot issues, develop solutions, and implement resolutions in a timely manner to minimize impact to the operationThink, design, and create innovative solutions to support project teams in improving the pilot work experience
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Information TechnologyManagement) or Industrial Engineering (or similar degree with applicable skills)Team player that fosters trust, open dialogue, and healthy conflict with coworkersStrong interpersonal skills and servant leadership required to promote intentionalrelationshipsPreferably a rising Sophomore or rising Junior, as you are required to work 3 termsStrong organizational and time management skills requiredInternally motivated, curious, ready to learn, and eager to make an impactAbility to work under tight deadlines and time constraints while being able to manageand prioritize multiple project requests conjointlyProject Management experience is a plus (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)Experience with business cases, process mapping, and database management is a plusConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
