At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do.We are seeking a Co-Occurring Therapist to join our team in our Shelocta, PAlocation supporting Armstrong and Indiana County.Earn $21.73 / hour.

  Position DetailsConsult with Psychiatrist and Primary Care Physicians on the effects of addiction on mental and physical health and assist in determining the appropriate course of treatment for individuals with co-occurring disorders. Collaborate with the registered nurses in the assessment of an individual's physical health, making appropriate referrals to community physicians for further assessment and treatment, and incoordination of medical, psychiatric, and substance abuse treatment. Provide ongoing support and counseling and education to team members, individuals, and family members to help them become more knowledgeable about substance abuse disorders. Submit written reports and oral testimony and presentation of opinion in commitment and other legal proceedings, as necessary. Attending organizational staff meetings and treatment planning meetings as requested to assess patients and assist with staff training and education, as necessary.Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams are composed of professionals including psychiatrists, nurses, mental health professionals, substance abuse professionals, employment specialists, housing specialists, and a peer specialist, all of whom collaborate to provide complete services including therapy, medication management, and resource linkage to adult individuals with serious mental illness (SMI). Services are provided in the individual's home or the community and include at least three home visits a week.   Requirements

  The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in human services/related field2 to 3 years of experience working with individuals with co-occurring substance abuse/mental health disorders required.Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or CAADC Certification is REQUIRED.
