  Converting Operator: Position Grade C (Entry-Level)

  Position Objective

  Produces the highest quality product by meeting Customer Specifications, and operates within equipment guidelines.

  Authority / Decision Making

  Ensure finished product is packed correctly, monitors all quality to assure product conformity to Customer specifications, and monitors production, packing equipment and operates within equipment guidelines.

  Assist line operator on startups and order changes as needed.

  Follows all plant and equipment safety regulations and THM & Housekeeping Policies.

  Attends any ongoing training and OSHA classes.

  Available for forklift assistance as needed.

  Available for any duties and / or tasks as assigned by the Senior Lead.

  Duties & Responsibilities

  Task and Duties

  Possess good hand dexterity for packing finished product into cartons.

  Monitors production and packing equipment and operates with equipment guidelines.

  Should monitor all quality such as seals, print, easy open, ink specs. Etc. to assure product conforms to the Customer's Specification.

  Assist line operator on initial startups, order changes or as needed.

  Follows all plant and equipment safety regulations and reports any unsafe activities or conditions.

  Inspects finished product on a timely basis as part of quality assurance program.

  Must maintain good housekeeping in the T-Shirt Section.

  Assists in training new personnel and shares workload.

  Available for overtime when needed.

  Assigned to a shift in production and rotates once a month.

  Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.

  Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

  Physical / Visual Activity Required

  Physical

  Climbing, ascending or descending stairs, ramps, and the like using feet and legs and or, hands and arms, body agility is emphasized.

  Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

  Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: Changing paper in printer, copier machine.

  Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

  Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

  Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

  Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: Making copies, giving presentation, directing traffic.

  Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example: Making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.

  Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

  Pushing, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

  Preferred Qualifications

  High school graduate or equivalent.

  Required Qualifications

  Should have some Mechanical aptitude.

  Should have good oral and written communication skills.

  Previous production experience-preferred.

  If driving a forklift, must have a valid IBS Forklift Certification.

  Converting Operator: Position Grade B

  Position Objective

  Produces the highest quality product meeting Customer Specifications through safe operation of the assigned equipment.

  Authority / Decision Making

  Monitors production and operation of equipment, make line adjustments and troubleshoot when needed.

  Monitor all quality for conformity to the Customers specifications and continually inspects finished product.

  Adheres to all plant and equipment safety regulations.

  Attend any ongoing training and OSHA classes.

  Available for forklift assistance as needed.

  Available for any duties and / or tasks as assigned by Senior Lead.

  Duties & Responsibilities

  Task and Duties

  Monitors production and operation of equipment in assigned areas.

  Able to make a few line adjustments when needed and troubleshoot in a timely manner.

  Should monitor all quality such as seals, print, easy open, ink specs, etc. to assure product conformity to the Customer's specification. May be required by management to perform the QC job function within department.

  Adheres to all plant and equipment safety regulations, reports any unsafe activities and conditions.

  Inspects finished product against quality specifications as part of quality assurance program.

  Keeps equipment and floor area clean and orderly, follows daily housekeeping requirements.

  Assists, where needed, to maximize productivity.

  Available for overtime when needed.

  Involved in training process of new employees and utility personnel.

  Assign to twelve - hour shifts in production rotating once a month.

  Any tasks as assigned by Senior Lead.

  Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.

  Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

  Physical / Visual Activity Required

  Physical

  Climbing, ascending or descending stairs, ramps, and the like using feet and legs and or, hands and arms, body agility is emphasized.

  Must valid IBS Forklift certification.

  Converting Operator: Position Grade A

  Position Objective

  Produces the highest quality product meeting Customer's Specifications through safe operation of the assigned equipment.

  Authority / Decision Making

  Adheres to Plant and Safety Policies.

  Ensures THM and Housekeeping is maintained.

  Monitors quality to assure product conformity to the Customer Specifications.

  Able to make line adjustments and troubleshoots line problems.

  Ensure tasks are completed as assigned by Senior Lead.

  Takes initiative towards THM program to ensure all areas are safe and clean.

  Attendance: employees conduct themselves towards a positive environment.

  Monitors all quality such as seals, print, easy open, ink specs, etc. to assure product conformity to the Customer's Specifications. May be required by management to perform the QC job function within the Department.

  Able to make line adjustments as well as troubleshoot problems.

  Demonstrates leadership skills.

  Attend all required meetings as well as conduct shift meetings.

  Complete any tasks as assigned by Senior Lead.

  Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.

  Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

  Converting Operator: Position Grade Sr.

  Position Objective

  Meet the Customer's specifications by producing the highest quality through safe operation of the assigned equipment.

  Authority / Decision Making

  Ensure THM and Housekeeping is followed in all areas.

  Ensures Safety and Plant policies are followed.

  Makes line adjustments or troubleshoots to correct problems arising on the line. Monitors quality to assure product conformity to Customer Specifications.

  Ensure paperwork is completed at shift end and attend shift meetings if needed for on coming shift to explain any problems that might have occurred.

  Attend ongoing training for production and OSHA.

  Assist Senior Lead with any duties as required.

  Ensures all paperwork is completed at the end of each shift.

  Able to make line adjustment, monitors quality (print, seals, easy open, ink spec, etc.) to assure product conformity to customer specifications. May be required by management, to perform the QC job function within the Department.

  Able to troubleshoot bag machine when needed.

  Demonstrates leadership skills.

  Attend all required meetings as well as conduct shift meetings.

  Assist Senior Lead with employee evaluations and any training needed.

  During Senior Lead's absence, perform all job tasks, duties, and responsibilities.

  Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.

  Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

  Physical / Visual Activity Required

  Physical

  Converting Operator: Position Grade Senior Lead

  Position Objective

  Ensure that personnel reporting to this position adhere to the Corporate and Plant Administrative Policies & Corporate, Plant Safety Policies & Procedures, and complies with all procedures to produce the highest quality which would meet the Customer's Specifications.

  Authority / Decision Making

  Authority over shift, all operators and packers.

  Monitor quality, THM housekeeping and ensures all personnel adhere to all safety policies.

  Makes maintenance decisions on nights and weekends. Communicate with Production Technicians concerning problem areas.

  Handle injuries and documentation.

  Communicate with personnel conducting QC Audits on quality.

  Ensure job tasks are performed during shift, resolve personnel problems, and ensure personnel attend OSHA and procedural training. Review daily production and any quality abnormals.

  Duties & Responsibilities

  Communicate with Operation Manager regarding shift performance and changes that may occur.

  Administrative of the personnel within the assigned area with regards to the hiring, termination or promotion in accordance with the Corporate Policy regarding authorization. Ensure all members are present for shift assignment.

  Notify Senior Operator of tasks to be performed on (other than routine) shift.

  Notify designated personnel in press area, of any changes in production sequences report and order or label changes. Ensure that film, labels, and production instruction are available for current and next shift.

  Communicate with personnel conducting QC Audits on quality and production concerns.

  Monitor quality, housekeeping, and ensure that all personnel adhere to all safety policies.

  Assist converting operator in troubleshooting and evaluate performance of converting operators for additional training requirements.

  Communicate with Production Technicians concerning problem areas.

  Monitor machines and identify worn parts that need replacing and ensure that all guards are functional and in place.

  Communicate with all personnel to answer questions, pertaining to job tasks, address concerns, relay information, and resolve personnel problems. Conduct OSHA training to ensure all personnel adheres to the Safety guidelines set forth from Corporate Policies and SOP Training to ensure procedures are followed according to Customer Specifications.

  Responsible for reviewing production tickets and any quality abnormal. Seek any countermeasures to correct those issues and find measure to prevent recurrences.

  Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.

  Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

  Preferred Qualifications

  High School Graduate or Equivalent.

  Prefer some computer skills or course completion.

  Required Qualifications

  Must have good oral and written communication skills.

  Must have Mechanical aptitude.

  Minimum of one year experience as Senior Operator or three years experience with similar equipment.

  Depending on the criteria, the above qualifications may be waived by Management.
