About the role
Controls Technician
Hours/Shift Info:
1st Shift: Sunday Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday; overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
Performs root cause analysis and final fixes on industrial machinery Upgrades to equipment and systems.
Electrical
Troubleshoot/maintain/install electrical controls/ Automation for industrial machinery and building facilities equipment.
Not limited to: PLCs (reading/analyzing logic, troubleshooting ladder logic/ some basic PLC programming experience preferred), discrete I/O, analog signals; soft starters, motor control circuits; industrial machinery electrical control cabinets; ethernet communications and switches; solenoids; push buttons; various sensors
3 phase and single-phase electrical distribution systems: Feeder/sub panels; branch circuitry; building electrical.
VFDs - Troubleshoot, Be able to use the manual to wire VFD for specific uses/ needs. Enter parameters via the manual for specific application needs to maximize efficiency.
HMIs Ability to transfer/ edit HMI programs for different HMI such as Automation direct EA9, Maple Systems, Panel View Plus etc. Ability to program HMIs from scratch is a huge plus.
Mechanical
Troubleshoot /install mechanical systems related to industrial machinery and building facilities equipment.
Not limited to gear reducers; conveyor belts; rollers; bearings; pumps; and mixers along with any other system requiring electrical components/ wiring related to operation.
Fluid Power
Pressurized hydraulic/pneumatic systems and circuitry: motors; pumps, directional control valves; flow/pressure control devices.
Perform preventative/predictive maintenance electrical/ electronics on industrial machinery and building facilities related to dry blending and mixing operations.
Equipment not limited to: Industrial blenders, baggers, scales, conveyors, metal detection and x-ray, hoists, and related.Communicate with production personnel and supervision.
Record work in SAP.
Request orders for parts/equipment.
Fabrication/ Machining experience a plus.
TIG Welding experience a huge plus
Key responsibilities
Qualifications and skills
High School diploma required; technical degree/professional certifications preferred.
5 years minimum related experience and training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledgeable in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
Experience in a food production environment and familiarization with GMP a plus.
Knowledge and ability to operate production machines, forklifts, scissor lifts, Etc.
Experience with MS Office and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Preferably SAP.
Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform a variety of non-routine tasks that require agility and manual dexterity.
