The Role:
Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of "Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion." Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products! The Controls Systems Engineer will be an Individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and work you're doing throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle. This includes requirements definition, systems design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution.
What You'll Do:
Develop and document requirements required to design an automotive system Design and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component reuse and consistency to standard methodologies Oversee requirements development with other activities Provide support to other specialists for root cause analysis Strong ability to expertly capture and analyze empirical data Design Tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvements Stay on top of industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologies. Identify and document system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans; track corrective actions

Your Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree with a major in electrical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent automation controls engineering experience Proficiency in industrial networking protocols - Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP and EthernetIP HMI - Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell FactoryTalk View PLC - Rockwell ControlLogix and/or Siemens 300F families Servo drive systems - Siemens G120 and S120 families, and Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix This position will require overtime and off-shift production support
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:
2+ years of Controls experience in a Manufacturing environment Vision Cameras Fanuc or Siemens CNC experience Fanuc Robot Programming experience
