Contracts Manager
The Contracts Manager manages day-to-day contracts responsibilities of a division within KBR’s National Security Solutions (NSS) business unit. The Contracts Manager manages flagship contract(s) within the group and provides advice and guidance to subordinates on complex contract issues. The Contracts Manager also assists with the management of and team oversight related to functional and corporate initiatives, serving as the division’s spokesperson/representative on complex and major contracts, and acting as contracts consultant to senior program management. The Contracts Manager also oversees proposal preparation, contract negotiation and administration for contracts. They will report directly to the Director of Contracts for the KBR NSS business unit.Duties & Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Oversees company performance for conformance to original proposal and maintains continual reviews to ensure that all terms and conditions are met and that the contract is in accordance with legal requirements, customer specifications and government regulations.
Provides expertise in identifying potential contractual problems or conflicts and analyzing impact/ramifications.
Prepares and disseminates information throughout the division (and company as required) regarding contract status, compliance, modification, deviation, negotiation, and termination.
Supervises and manages the performance of a team of up to 5 individuals (based on growth)
Focuses on continual improvement in the speed, quality, and simplicity of contract formation and management processes, without compromising compliance.
Supports Company methodologies to reduce inefficiencies and improve responsiveness.
Able to manage contract issues across KBR ensuring organizational effectiveness and standardization.
Manage contracts of varying types with potentially significant change management requirements.
Responsible for driving division performance consistent with KBR functional objectives.
Provides independent and objective contract evaluation.
Prepare documentation involving expression of the company’s position on potential REAs, disputes, claims, or protests.
Advises KBR leadership on contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
Maximizes profit and cash flow while minimizing risk in the negotiation of contracts.
Contributes to the development of strong working relationships with customers, and ensures high internal customer satisfaction.
Participates in the recruitment and hiring of employees within the division. Supervises direct reports. Establishes individual performance goals. Reviews performance against goals. Plans, approves and implements actions for the timely development and progress of individuals. Manages discipline and documentation steps in problem employee situations.
Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, or related discipline (experience in lieu of a degree will be considered).
Minimum 10 years of experience in Federal Government contract management/administration. Demonstrated experience in administration and management of major contract types: fixed-price, time & materials (T&M), and various cost-type contracts is required. Experience with US military contracting a plus.
Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience.

Active Security Clearance at a Secret or above level, and availability to obtain a higher-level clearance, is preferred.
Desired Education, Experience, Skills Or Training
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), NASA, general military, and/or space operations contracts a plus.
Experience using SharePoint and Costpoint systems
Willingness to occasionally travel in support of contract needs.
