General Dynamics Information Technology, a world leader in Defense IT Systems Integration and Services is seeking a Configuration and Assets Manager to manage all IT assets and ensure that assets under the control of the IT organization are identified, controlled and properly cared for throughout their lifecycle. This individual must possess strong leadership, communication, planning skills, and have a broad IT background in systems, servers, networks and hardware experience gained in managing and delivering critical IT services.
Responsibilities:
Identify, control, record, report, audit and verify services and other configuration items (CIs), including versions, baselines, constituent components, their attributes and relationships.
Account for, manage and protect the integrity of CIs through the service lifecycle by working with change management to ensure that only authorized components are used, and only authorized changes are made.
Ensure the integrity of CIs and configurations required to control the services by establishing and maintaining an accurate and complete configuration management system (CMS).
Maintain accurate configuration information on the historical, planned and current state of services and other CIs.
Provide accurate configuration information to enable timely decisions — for example, to authorize changes and releases, or to resolve incidents and problems. The Configuration and Assets Manager is responsible for the Accountable Property and software processes.
Develop and maintain IT asset management procedures and guidelines to ensure adherence to ITIL best practices.
Conduct periodic audits of IT asset management system to ensure compliance with established procedures and guidelines.
Automate IT asset management and configuration management processes using appropriate tools.
Develop and maintain IT configuration management policies, procedures, and standards.
Collaborate with IT project teams to ensure configuration management requirements are properly incorporated into project plans and schedules.
Serve as a technical resource to IT staff and other departments on IT configuration management best practices and standards.
Assist in resolving configuration management-related issues and incidents.
Provide periodic reports on the status of the IT asset management and configuration management systems to IT management.
Required Experience:
Experience as Configuration Manager and Asset Management
A solid enterprise IT, cyber, and program management background and experience
Proven ability to communicate with Government/military personnel at all levels; impart confidence in GDIT’s commitment and ability to support this program.
Experience in DoD IT enterprise; understanding of DoD IT directives and guidelines.
Required Technical Skills:
Responsiveness to all levels of military and diverse customer base
Work closely with IT infrastructure team to identify IT assets, ensure proper documentation and control of IT assets.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Certification CompTIA A+, Network+ (or equivalent)
3-5 yrs. of IT experience
Security Clearance Level:
Must be US Citizen
TS/SCI
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and oral communication skills to write technical analysis reports and security plans.
Implementing optimizing, standardizing, and streamlining policies, processes, and standard operating procedures
Preferred Skills:
Current or previous experience with DoD related contracts
Experience with enterprise IT service desk support and best practices.
Using and customizing service desk tools and technologies (like Remedy ITSM, Automated Call Distribution, Artificial Intelligence/Virtual Agent) to monitor and improve program performance and satisfy customer needs.
Experience leading and managing personnel in a geographically dispersed, 24x7x365 environment.
Experience with NORAD/NORTHCOM.

The likely salary range for this position is $92,331 - $154,211. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
