We are looking for an exceptional researcher with a proven track record of working at the intersection of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Graphics as well as an outstanding software engineer who can prototype invented algorithms. As a Research Scientist at Meta Reality Lab, you will pursue research, and work with other researchers and engineers to solve challenges at the forefront of the field to transform virtual reality from dream to reality. Leading a team of experts and setting the research agenda
Influence and drive strategy for long-term ambitious research to advance digital humans
Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance the state-of-the-art in digital humans
Research, develop, and prototype advanced neural rendering approaches for digital humans
Participate in cutting edge research in computer vision, graphics and machine learning
Develop efficient deep neural network models for digital humans
Contributing research that can be applied to product development
Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences
Make the company better through engaging in cross-company efforts like recruiting, cross-functional partnerships, diversity & inclusion initiatives, or site initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of work experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on digital humans
PhD in the field of computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning or a related field
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading conferences (e.g., NIPS, ICLR, ICML, SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ECCV and ICCV) or journals (e.g., PAMI, IJCV, JMLR, ToG)
Experience building and executing on long-term research strategies
Experience with deep learning tools (e.g. PyTorch, NumPy)
Professional expertise and exposure to the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to algorithms

10+ years of work experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on digital humans
Mathematical background and understanding of numerical optimization, linear algebra, probabilistic estimation and 3D geometry
Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub)
Track record of translating research into business impact
Experience and/or interest in managing research teams in an industrial setting
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Public Compensation:
$264,000/year to $342,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
