The Computer Vision Application Engineer II role involves supporting customers by conducting feasibility studies for their
projects and addressing their technical inquires related to Zebra’s machine vision products, as well as
contributes to the product development. The individual in this position serves as a technical subject matter expert
that assists sales team in evaluating potential projects and conducting technical training sessions. This role operates under
established processes and directions requiring intermittent supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Conducts advanced feasibility studies using Zebra’s machine vision software.
• Serves as a technical subject matter expert (Tier 2) for customers seeking technical support.
• Takes part in machine vision software development projects.
• Assists in preparing project specifications and time estimates of machine vision projects.
• Assists sales people in gathering customer’s technical requirements.
• Conducts trainings and seminars for internal and external audience.
• Develops official examples and documentation for Zebra’s machine vision software.
• Develops stations demonstratrating capabilities of Zebra’s machine vision products at external
events.
• Takes part in extensive tests of latest developments in order to evaluate product performance;
compares it against competition, and prepare relevant performance benchmarks.
• Tests compatibility of Zebra’s machine vision software with third-party hardware
Qualifications:
• Minimum Education: Bachelor degree in automation control, computer science, mechatronics or
similar field
• Minimum Work Experience (years): 3+ years of machine vision engineering experience
• Key Skills and Competencies:
Very good knowledge of image processing algorithms
Very good knowledge of machine vision hardware: illumination, optics and cameras
Strong communication skills and a high level of problem-solving skills
Good knowledge of C++ or C#
Good knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN)
Good knowledge of industrial communication protocols
Good knowledge of machine learning concepts and metrics
Knowledge of Linux operating system is an advantage
