Be part of the solution: our current healthcare system, despite herculean efforts on the part of clinicians, often fails to provide coordinated, seamless care. We feel there is a better way. We are looking for a growth minded physician with experience in hospitalist medicine and geriatrics to function in a mixed role as hospitalist and primary care physician in Snohomish County. Applicants should have comfort with medically complex patients, interest in advancing patient and family comprehension, and ability to focus on big picture goals. Time will be split between the two roles, with supportive, collaborative teams in both setting. The common denominator is caring for complex Medicare advantage patients in unique and innovative ways, including supportive alternatives to hospitalization. The most desirable candidate would have a strong background in adult medicine (hospitalist or similar), experience with high acuity care, complex patients, and comfort with prognostication and palliative care. Candidates should have interest in exploring unique models and caring for patients in different settings.
Personalized care team: PCT is a cutting-edge outpatient and home-based team that provides integrated, supportive care to a complex aging population, with a goal of reduced suffering, increased patient and family understanding, and optimized care. The interdisciplinary team is comprised of physicians, resident physicians, palliative care clinicians, pharmacists, social workers, RN care managers, and care navigators. The team provides whole person care to a diverse population of complex patients, across multiple settings, particularly near the end of life. You would work in concert with other physicians and collectively share management of the patient panel. You will not be responsible for outpatient care during your hospitalist shifts.
Traditional Hospitalist role: Candidates will function in a traditional hospitalist role in a community teaching hospital within a tight-knit team of 60+ MDs and 9 APCs dedicated to continuous improvement. The Medical Hospitalist Team is well supported with strong relationships with the ICU, ER, specialists and hospice. Our team has deep ties to Washington State University and is a training site for the new WSU internal medicine residency program: teaching is part of the hospitalist role. The primary hospital setting is a 500-bed safety-net hospital in Everett, Washington, (about 30 miles north of Seattle). Work is shift based with excellent scheduling flexibility and ability to accommodate partial FTEs. You would enjoy a schedule of 14-16 shifts/month for full time FTE, including some afternoon swing shifts but no full overnight shifts.
