**Job OverviewReporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Compactor Operator will process the waste and involves the safe and efficient operation of a high-pressure hydraulic compactor.
Key Responsibilities:
Completing daily pre-trip inspections and lubrication of the compactor, opening and closing intermodal container doorsDiligently monitor cameras for compactor successful operationDirecting truck traffic to and from the compactors, and periodic clean-up of the compactor during and after operations.Assisting with traffic control and direction on the grounds and Tipping Floor areas of the Transfer Station[Position Requirements:To be considered for this position, the individual must have:]{inherit",serif"=""}
High School Diploma or EquivalentOne (1) year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA, preferably in a solid waste handling facilityMechanical, equipment or trade school certificate or training preferred.Flexible to work on a rotating shift schedule and work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.Employees work rotating shifts 6:00am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to close which can be up to 1:00am including SaturdaysPhysical Demands:
