JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is looking for a community relations coordinator in the Kansas City market OR Des Moines, IA to build relationships in the communities in our operating footprint in this area. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local and state officials, business and community leaders, community organizations, field operations and key customers to create a positive environment in which to do business and to enhance community well-being and company image. Act as a local resource to news media personnel, when appropriate, in coordination with Communications Manager. Additionally, coordinating community investments programs designed to engage communities and employees.
This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provide guidance and preliminary assessment on screening of internal and external inquiries regarding community investments programs and activities. Coordinate the approvals, payments and correspondence processes for grants and corporate contributions. Research requests and/or assist committee members by conducting due diligence and developing preliminary recommendations
Coordinate communication for community investments in region and for other company operations as needed. Organize distribution of charitable contributions and related public relations
Promote and maintain positive image through strong business relations with key local community and business leaders. Represent the company on local boards and at meetings as necessary. Support operations including government relations and growth projects to enable the business to operate effectively
Provide response to media queries, when appropriate, in coordination with Communications Manager
Serve as the liaison on the regional community investments committee as well as a resource for all CIP programs, including Volunteers With Energy, annual United Way campaign and employee matching grants. Assist with company special projects and events as needed
Generate, maintain and verify information, documentation and reports for community investments including, but not limited to, charitable contributions, volunteerism, budgets, communication and publicity materials. Required documentation and information should be kept current in the community investments database
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or related field with previous experience in public relations or related field or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as business communications, marketing, public relations, computer science, business administration, plus 3-5 years of the following job related experience:Work Experience
Experience developing, organizing and managing complex community projects to enhance corporate profile and/or build name recognition in communities served
Experience developing cooperative and effective working relationships with management, volunteer coordinators, communications personnel, employees, charitable organizations and others requiring strong communications skills
Experience in use and function of office equipment applicable to position including use of microcomputers to compile and maintain CIP information and generate reports
Experience and training related to:
Organizing volunteer efforts
Public relations
Appreciation of community dynamics

Conference/meeting planning
Experience coordinating activities and compiling and/or disseminating information related to budgets, meeting/travel arrangements, civic activities, employee programs, etc.
