General Summary(What is done and why)
The Community Impact Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing community focused marketing activities, events, and sponsorships that support the organizational strategy. Building effective community relationships, the Community Impact Coordinator will support the Member experience through brand experiences that reflect the overall United brand and giving strategy.
The Community Impact Coordinator activates the giving strategy by identifying the overarching relationship and community support goals and creating opportunities for the United brand to formulate positive impressions through compelling public interaction. The Community Impact Coordinator will understand the strategy and creatively execute experiences that align with the impact goals. Working with the extended Marcomm and regional teams, this role will develop an integrated approach to all activities both internal and external.
The Community Impact Coordinator understands the United brand and verbal identity, value proposition, points of differentiation and executes the brand with a local, authentic feel within each event or sponsorship. This role coordinates locally-based marketing and communications efforts supporting the sales organization by creating a foundation of awareness of United as the preferred credit union in each market where we are present. The Coordinator also utilizes social media channels, content marketing, and ad hoc marketing efforts to support each region in achieving brand awareness and growth goals.
Essential Functions, in Priority Order (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)
Responsible for understanding the United brand and community impact strategy in order to bring it to life through relationship-building opportunities, sponsorships, events and strategic giving. Acts as a partner in community efforts that build awareness and create goodwill for United. Tracks efforts, budget and spend. Time: 40%
Responsible for all facets of sponsorship and event management including vendor management and sponsorship agreements with community partners. Maintains communication with community partners and internal stakeholders for branch-level, corporate and community events. Responsible for arranging space, visuals and other materials needed for effective event execution. Time 20%
Responsible for coordinating internal and external communications for community impact events, sponsorships and large-scale donations, utilizing the most effective channels based on each community/target audience, etc. Works closely with marketing agencies, public relation professionals, retail, front-line staff, the media and other stakeholders. Time 20%
Responsible for the metrics, reporting and tracking of all donations, sponsorships, promotional items, etc. Measures and monitors the performance of marketing activities. Time: 10%
Acts as an ambassador of the United brand and is responsible for knowing, understanding communicating and executing events that align with the brand guidelines. Oversees development of clear promotional messaging. Also responsible for proofing campaign material. Performs other duties as assigned. Time: 10%
Qualifications
Education and experience(Minimum education and experience required to perform the duties of this position)
Bachelor's degree in related field or two years of related work experience required
Two to five year's marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations experience or related field required
Experience in organizational and community development practices preferred
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel) required
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) a plus
Social media experience a plus
Project management experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities(Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)
Understanding of Consumer / Member experience best practices
Excellent, highly-evolved verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Physical Demands (Physical effort generally associated with this position)
Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from prolonged work at the computer. Deadlines, workloads and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels.
Working Conditions
(Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)
Internal-- work is normally performed in climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.
