About the role:
Dow Jones is seeking a Communications Manager to drive our media relations and internal communications efforts in the APAC region. Reporting to the Director of Communications, APAC, this role will be responsible for developing and executing a regional communications strategy to enhance our organization's reputation and drive employee engagement.
Based in our Hong Kong or Singapore office, you will have the opportunity to manage a busy press office, coordinate high-profile events and gather compelling stories from our regional news bureaus and product teams.
You will:
Lead regional media relations efforts and pitching to promote Dow Jones and its brands, including the flagship Wall Street Journal, across major territories across APAC Create thought leadership platforms and narratives that resonate with a C-Suite and consumer audience Remain current on daily news headlines, identifying opportunities to newsjack or insert Dow Jones and our reporting where appropriate Draft media pitches, press releases, proactive commentary and bylined articles to amplify Dow Jones's journalism, products and people Develop briefing materials for media interviews and public speaking engagements Collaborate with Director of Communications, APAC to build strong relationships with and advise leaders on communications opportunities, pitching strategies, stories and tactics Support internal communication strategies to promote APAC news and achievements that help build a sense of community across the region Proactively identify potential stories from across teams and geographies, building these into the global communications calendar Support communication activities and support the coordination of regional employee events, townhalls, fireside chats and all-hands meetings Collaborate with the communications team in the U.S. and international markets to employ communication channels in creative ways that resonate with audiences and align with the overall strategy
You have:
Minimum of five years agency experience in PR and corporate communications at an agency and/or in-house in a multinational or APAC-focused role Strong media relations experience with expert knowledge of the ever-evolving news landscape and established relationships with relevant national and broadcast media in across APAC Storytelling and messaging, with solid experience of articulating complex issues in an easy-to-digest manner Experience building and executing communications strategies and plans across traditional and digital channels A motivated and energetic team player A diverse mix of experience of external and internal communications is preferred, as well as a working knowledge of social media. Degree in Communications, Public Relations and/or a background in Journalism, or a related field
