  Description

  Are you a world-class communications professional with strong technical skills? Would you like to drive communications programs for our executives, our employees, customers, and partners for a global team of technical and business experts at Amazon Web Services? We are seeking a customer-focused, proactive, and detail-oriented individual that is passionate about maximizing the impact and scale of the AWS Worldwide Specialist Organization leadership team.

  We are seeking an experienced, global communications leader to develop and drive a world-class internal communications strategy including providing direct executive communications support. You will come from a solid communications or marketing background supporting technical areas such as engineering, software development, sales engineering, or solutions architecture. You will be responsible for building a program that achieves communication objectives for both internal and external audiences, have excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to establish a professional, consistent message across a range of communications channels. This role will require the ability to work backwards from ambiguous customer requirements to distill clear and concise messaging, including selecting the appropriate communication channel (e.g., blogs, newsletters, leadership announcements, email, etc.) or inventing new ones.

  Key job responsibilities

  • Drive Internal Communication Strategy: Develop and drive the executive engagement and internal communications strategy and plan that produces meaningful results for our business (e.g., revenue growth, margin improvement, productivity, etc.)

  • Create Compelling Presentation: Demonstrate strong presentation creation abilities, including advanced PowerPoint skills, and craft persuasive presentation, translating complex information into compelling sales material/decks. Define and drive the overall communications strategy for AWS WWSO

  • Work cross-functionally and across geographies with stakeholders at all levels to define key messages and themes and to drive awareness and adoption of programs and initiatives

  • Executive Communications, Case Studies & Presentations: Align with AWS Communications and Public Relations and other business partner teams, to shape, define executive themes in alignment with customer feedback and the organization’s goals. Ensure that themes are amplified through incorporation into internal and external events, customer interactions, case study development, solutions portfolio development, and other communications. Manage an executive collateral repository for easy access by LT.

  • Define and develop social media strategy in support of Executive Communications plan in conjunction with AWS Marketing & PR.

  • Create Compelling Presentation: Demonstrate strong presentation creation abilities, including advanced PowerPoint skills, and craft persuasive presentation, translating complex information into compelling sales material/decks.

  A day in the life

  Working with other teams on a script for an upcoming external event. Planning, then doing some recording for the Quarterly All Team Meeting. Recording a monthly update with the VP. Capturing ideas and scripting out suggested posts for an Exec's LinkedIn page. Working on upcoming newsletters, etc. Refining the overall comms strategy, working with other Comms Leads and Exec Comms roles across the broader org to coordinate events, messages, etc.

  About the team

  This role supports the Worldwide Specialist Organization and the broader Specialist team which comprises thousands of people in a number of technical positions around the globe. This role sits within the Program & Business Management, Comms & Culture, GTM Acceleration team (yeah, we need a smaller name).

  Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of program or project management experience

  Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  Preferred Qualifications

  2+ years of managing stakeholders in cross-functional project experience

  Bachelor's degree

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
