ABOUT THE ROLE
Purpose of the role
In this role you will own commercial agenda (incl. route-to-market, in-market execution, pricing and key account commercial plans across channels, market shares, and measurement & evaluation), with PNL responsibility, managing Net Sales Value (NSV) and Gross Profit (GP) of selective markets in cluster, and reporting requirements of the Country manager’s strategic priorities.
You will have a significant amount of liaison with the distributor partners in the markets, providing alignment, planning and follow-up processes. Expected to be in market partner-facing 20% of time. The role is designed to orchestrate a large cross-functional force to ensure the delivery of set results and follow through with all specific market opportunities.
You will own the P&L for Tier 3 markets for spirits, with 15M USD NSV responsibility. Country Manager will be accountable for the strategic planning and transformation across the region and will provide coaching to the Commercial Manager.
Top Accountabilities:
Market Expertise & Country Development:Attend regular in-market visits to gather specific insights and opportunities into channels, efficiency of distributor sales force and use of wholesale,
Contribute constructively in the development of country portfolio, channel trade strategy and innovation strategy,
Perform monthly and quarterly business reviews with distributors to ensure performance and plans are on track.
Deliver Great ResultsOwn the Country P&L for respective markets, with Country Manager coaching, responsible for delivering AOP target.Control and complianceEnsure control and compliance of distributors’ activation in respect to Diageo Marketing code and Code of business conduct across the region
Track and control the effectiveness of marketing spend
Work with finance partner to ensure sound credit control
Lead supply agenda with partners
Leverage Centre of Excellence for standardized and automated reporting and analytics
Executional ExcellenceDevelop close collaboration with Diageo Country Manager and Customer Activation team, as well as Trade Marketing and Sales teams in distributor organization,
Ensure proper M&E to track performance, capture learnings and support Country managers to influence Partners to achieve contractual performance and consumer KPIs.
ABOUT YOU
At least 5 years’ rounded business experience, comprising preferably of commercial experience. Experience in another function, e.g. Finance, Marketing, and Strategy will be considered as a plus
Proven track record of operating as a self-starter in an environment in which you are required to be self-sufficient.
Cross-cultural experience is an advantage
Developing market experience is an advantage
Experience working with 3rd party distributors / partners is preferable.
