MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, efficiency, and strategic management of the company's trade spending activities. This includes budget allocation, monitoring and controlling trade spends, processing trade claims, analyzing trade spends by channel / brand and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budget Allocation and Management:
Develop and manage the allocation of trade spend budget including gross-to-net spends and marketing spends
Monitor budget utilization ensuring adherence to financial plans and identifying any deviations.
Provide regular reports and analysis on spend performance versus budget highlighting areas for improvement and making recommendations for strategic deployment of spends
2. Spend Monitoring and Control:
Track and analyze trade spends by channel / brand to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Implement and maintain effective spend control measures.
Work closely with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to align spending with business objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact for trade spend-related inquiries and issues.
Continuously evaluate and enhance spend management processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control.
3. Claims Processing:
Oversee the processing of claims related to trade spend, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement.
Maintain detailed records of all claims and related documentation.
Resolve discrepancies and issues related to claims in collaboration with relevant departments.
4. Exceedra System Management:
Ensure the accurate use of the Exceedra system for trade spend management and claims processing.
Continuously review and optimize the use of the Exceedra system to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
5. Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.Skill, Education, Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Proven experience in financial control, spend management, budgeting, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and spend control.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively and influence across departments.
