Eaton Aerospace is hiring a Commercial Finance Leader. This position can be located in Beachwood, OH, Fort Worth, TX, Grand Rapids, MI or Irvine, CA.
What you'll do:
As the Commercial Finance Leader for the Fuel & Motion Control Systems (FMC) Division, you will lead a team of 7 direct reports and a portfolio of 15 major focus programs. You will report to the Director of Finance, FMC who reports to the Vice President of Finance for Eaton Aerospace.
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, program financial control, measurement and reporting, contract accounting, financial lead on new business proposals, and business partnering with program management to analyze, and report cost drivers and spend activities for Division engineering and program spend. This position is involved from initial bid and capture activities to partnering with program management on the financial performance for each program and supporting the ongoing financial reporting requirements for all major programs. This position will ensure that the financial management processes for program management have adequate controls as well as lead the implementation of a variety of process improvements with financial management of growth programs by working with the Program Management teams and all 9 plants with FMC.
In this function you will:
• Monitor and control the research and development spend for the division and provide management with interpretation of variances from plan and of alternative courses of action to assist management in short- and long-term planning.
• Prepare financial analysis for all new program business proposals including detailed costing of forecast bills of materials, NPV evaluation of different scenarios. Obtain support from the relevant plant controller / division controller or reporting manager depending on the location of and complexity of the program.
• Business partner with program managers to control costs, maximize revenue from scope changes, ensure milestone invoices are raised promptly, mitigate risks and manage the budget. To this end the position will provide guidance to and work with program management on issues such as shipset cost vs. target cost, pricing and profitability, recovery of NRE costs from customer or any other financial issues that impact the successful development phase
• Work with contracts management on the implication of contract terms and identify any potential financial risks (e.g. NRE amortization, termination clauses, milestone payments etc)
• Complete Estimate to Complete calculations (ETC) when required by the contract and ensure these are reviewed and approved by division management
• Be an active participant in the pro-launch process and specifically support Pro-launch gate reviews and provide all necessary financial analysis in a timely fashion.
• Prepare strategic plans, annual profit plans, and monthly rolling forecasts by project for all major programs and for the overall R&D budget. Support Division Controller in the development of sales used for Profit Plan and Strat Plan
• Technical expert for questions of revenue recognition and capitalization of NRE associated with SOP 81-1 and EITF99-5.
• Support proposal management and execution by leading the development of financial analysis for all new program business proposals, capital investments, and potential new product endeavors.
• Assist GM's, Engineering and Program Management in the identification of financial risks and developing mitigation plans.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business and/or finance from an accredited institution
• Minimum seven (7) years of accounting and/or finance experience
• Minimum two (2) years of manager of people experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S without company sponsorship now or in the future
• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH, Fort Worth, TX, Grand Rapids, TX, or Irvine, CA to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA/CPA/CMA
• Aerospace & Defense industry experience
• Commercial finance experience
• Strong technical expertise (US GAAP/IAS) in accounting and finance, specifically in application to commercial/government long-term development and production contracts
• Experience working within an integrated Product Development team environment
• Experience in program/project accounting with success in leading teams and managing multiple projects
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems to include word processing, spreadsheet software and integrated ERP / accounting systems
• Working knowledge of SOP 81-1 and EITF 99-5

The expected annual salary range for this role is $131249.97 - $192499.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
