POSITION SUMMARY
Marriott International’s Managed hotels in the Scotland and North East England market seeks a dynamic, creative and innovative Marketing Executive to support the development and implementation of integrated strategies designed to position its hotels competitively with a strong focus on demand generation, brand-strong guest experiences and creative engagement that drives loyalty. A list of hotels associated with this role can be found at the bottom of this Job Description.
The position reports directly into the Cluster Marketing Manager Scotland and North East England Hotels. This role will be expected to be a strong team player within the Managed hotel teams in the Scotland and North East England market and the UK, Ireland & Nordics Area Marketing Team.
Objective:
The Marketing Executive will actively support the development and execution of the marketing activity for each property, including development of an over-arching Scotland and North East England marketing plan, executing campaigns and promotions, and supporting local pull through of assets and activation packs, for above- and on-property marketing.
Key job functions:
Work with the Cluster Marketing Manager to support with the development and execution of the Cluster Marketing plan to support the business objectives of participating hotels, including promotions, branding, media campaigns, loyalty marketing and partnership activity, individual property support and reporting
Work with Cluster Marketing Manager to support development and activation of Destination, Meetings & Events, Food & Beverage, Golf, Spa, Fitness marketing initiatives, particularly to maintain brand and concept compliance
Support with the management of collateral production requirements, including printed and digital assets and presentations, providing on and above property sales teams with all customer-facing assets and providing marketing support for sales driving initiatives
Supports with activating hotel digital strategies in partnership with Digital Field Marketing and social media channels using Marriott’s Social Media Monitoring and Management partner, Sprinklr. This will include the creation of content calendars, organic and paid social media activation, reporting and analysis.
Supports with the management of all hotel collateral production requirements, including printed and digital assets and presentations, responsible for providing on and above property sales teams with all customer-facing assets and providing marketing support for sales driving initiatives
Supports with the management of all Food and Beverage marketing requirements, including updates of digital assets, systems and menus
Supports with the reporting, analysis and communication to key stakeholders of Cluster and Hotel marketing initiatives
Play a supporting role during property photoshoots, including ensuring brand photographic guidelines are adhered to, guidance on use of the photography playbook, and photography audits
Support the Cluster Team and Director of Marketing UK with regular hotel marketing audits and action outcomes
Provides a supporting role to properties undergoing renovation, including managing Marketing critical path and pre-, during and post-communications plans.
Demonstrates strong organisational and marketing planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
Demonstrates a working knowledge of digital marketing techniques, including paid social media, application of social media channels, use of customer communication channels including email and website management
Support with content creation projects such as cluster destination videography, destination projects, Marriott Bonvoy Traveller projects and overall strategies to create engaging content to support key revenue driving segments
Work with the Cluster Marketing Manager on the development of hotel activation packs for all marketing activity to ensure campaigns are pulled through to a property level and all key marketing channels are activated
Responsible for the management, maintenance and content updates of UK digital marketing channels and websites
Monitor trends, insights and be forward thinking. Sharing best practice and ideas with the team.
Ability to identify specific action steps, accountabilities and timelines for workload including able to hold self-accountable for achieving results
Ability to express oneself clearly, concisely and effectively in one-on-one and group settings, both written and verbally, to a wide range of stakeholders, and demonstrate experience in delivering clear, evenly paced presentations to gain consensus on marketing initiatives, using visually engaging content and alternative ways of communicating
Demonstrates an eye for detail and experience of delivering high quality and professional marketing creative, developed both internally and through the use of appropriate agency resources
Acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge
Ability to use standard software applications, such as Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel. InDesign and Photoshop desirable
Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs
Professional attributes, skills & experience:
1-2 years relevant marketing experience preferred.
Excellent command of the English language - both written & spoken.
A natural ability with social media, especially Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram
Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
