  **** Position to be staffed as an Aircraft Mechanic 4, specializing in Ordnance

  Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), F-35 Sustainment HPSI Operating Unit, has an opening for an Aircraft Mechanic 4 join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as an Aircraft Mechanic 4 (Ordnance) supporting F-35 organizational maintenance at MCAS Miramar, CA. Your Mission will be to support O-Level maintenance on F-35.

   Your Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): AME management responsible for receipt/turn-in, acceptance, storage, usage tracking, aircraft configuration and management of AME items using ALIS (CMMS) in support of F-35 aircraft daily operations.AMETS inventory account management of Suspension & Release Equipment System (S&RES)Missionized Gun Pod inventory managementWeapons Support Equipment ManagerAME Installation Hardware Change Manager (to include interoperability with Supply Department systems) and provide liaison between JSF supply, JPO, and the unit on the accurate tracking of AME being received in and out from the unit.ALIS Electronic Equipment Logbook (EEL) Manager responsible for receiving, issuing and shipping AME using ALIS SCM in support of F-35 aircraft operations to include EEL screenings, verifying components are received with the correct EELs and handle their transfer out of the unit. (i.e.: Hardpoint Panels, photos, EEL verifications, permissions to correct ALIS records)Ensure all required loaded or removed AME life tracking/usage parameters is correctly annotated and reviewed for accuracy.Ensure all AME Off-Equipment items are stored and/or staged for use in accordance with 2PJG0-00001 Facilities Requirement Document (FRD), or in accordance with Service and/or Partner instructions.Ensure all AME items requiring a mandatory Production Aircraft Inspection Requirements (PAIRs) inspection are listed in JTD are accomplished by generating an Ad Hoc work order in ALIS to include proper handling of NRFI AME turn-in/ AME reception (boxing, FedEx shipping, etc.)Ensure AME Program compliance in accordance with F-35 Program Instruction 1516.01 Sustainment Operating Instruction (SOI) Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) ManagementHave a direct line of communication to manufacturers when reporting discrepancies or equipment issues and find solutions.You will Interpret and use various test equipment and work from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.You must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year. Basic Qualifications :Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years aircraft maintenance experience as either a technician, or in a maintenance/production control facet. US Citizenship required. Must have an Active Secret Clearance or higher with the ability to maintain. U. S. Navy, or U. S. Marine Corps experience with thorough understanding of F-35 Fighter Aircraft Systems and operations under COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 and 4790.35 and Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) Naval Ordnance Management Policy (NOMP) M-8000.16.Experience with All Weapons Information System (AWIS) database, CNAFINST 8380.2 requirements, and deficiency reporting.Experience with inventory management of Aircraft Armament Systems (AAS) and Armament Weapons Support Equipment (AWSE) to include allowance and inventory reporting.Experience with inventory management of Armament Support Equipment (ASE), Weapons Support Equipment (WSE), and Logistics Support Equipment (LSE).Experience with inspection, servicing, maintenance, and handling of ordnance support and Armament Handling Equipment (AHE) and/or any corrective actions.Experience with managing and implementing AME scheduled, corrective, and preventive maintenance actions, to include limited repair and corrosion control actions.Experience with AME record keeping, report preparation, and submission.Experience with AME requisition, receipt, storage, assembly, delivery, and issuance.Ability to provide AME technical assistance when required.You must be able to obtain and keep a flightline driver's competency card.You must be able to work first or second shift, as directed by the Aircraft Maintenance Manager.You must be able to depart on temporary duty assignments- on short notice.You must be able to obtain Ground Support Equipment Qualifications in support of F-35 Maintenance Operations.You must be able to meet the physical demands of this position, including regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, and reach.Experience with standard component removal and replacement, understanding of weapons suspension systems and understanding of structure maintenance to include knowledge of low observable maintenance processes and procedures.Excellent communication skills and experience in a Military-focused Customer Service-Related Industry.Weapons loading experience.Avionics troubleshooting and repair experience.Ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprint drawings.Valid US Passport.Experience as an On-The-Job trainer. Preferred Qualifications :Experience in 5 or 7-skill level USAF AFSC, CDI/CDQAR Navy NEC, or CDI/CDQAR United States Marine Corps, or equivalent on advanced fighter aircraft or F-35 Fighter Attack Aircraft.Low Observable (LO) repair and maintenance experience.Familiarity with anomaly Fault Resolution System, Customer Relationship Management, Joint Technical Data Navigation, Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA)/Maintenance Vehicle Interface (MVI) activities, Configuration Management and forms documentation and supply chain management activities.Knowledgeable with Conventional Ordnance Deficiency Report - (Things Falling Off Aircraft).TPDRs, EIs, and HMRs are submitted through JDRS and EMR are submitted through WESS (Web-enabled Safety System) and Product Deficiency Reporting and Evaluation Program (PDREP).Experience performing in a role of task trainer.Experience with procurement of ordnance AME directly from industry or other government agencies.Salary Range: $74,900 - $124,800

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
