About the Role:
The CrowdStrike Cloud Content team is an integral part of the Content Product Group, tasked with the critical mission of safeguarding cloud environments through innovative detection and response capabilities. This specialized team comprises cloud security experts, researchers, and engineers in various time zones working in unison to ensure our customers' cloud workloads are secure against the ever-changing threats in the security landscape.
As the Cloud Research Lead, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the team's direction, aligning with both the immediate goals of the Research Group and the overarching objectives of the organization. This role presents a unique opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge cloud research methodologies, formulate strategic plans for the team, and engage with various engineering and research groups to address some of the most challenging problems in cloud security today.
You will also get work with vast datasets, have a direct impact on the efficacy and evolution of our detections and play a decisive role in the strategic direction of our product development. Your contributions will enable continuous improvement of CrowdStrike's cloud detection capabilities ensuring that our customers can be secured with the most advanced security measures in place.
What You'll Do: Strategize and Lead Cloud Research Initiatives: Define and implement a comprehensive cloud research strategy that will be the foundation for developing advanced cloud detection capabilities. Ensure that the research directly contributes to the enhancement of our customers' security posture. Innovate in Cloud Threat Intelligence: Drive the innovation in cloud threat intelligence gathering and analysis. Stay ahead of emerging trends and threats in the cloud landscape to inform and shape our detection strategies. Develop Advanced Cloud Security Models: Create sophisticated models and frameworks for identifying and mitigating new types of cloud threats. Focus on predictive analytics and proactive threat hunting methodologies. Collaborate with CrossFunctional Teams: Work closely with various teams, including engineering, product management, detection engineering, and threat intelligence, to align research goals with broader organizational objectives. Develop strong partnerships with leaders across the board. Lead Cloud Security Thought Leadership: Establish the team as a leader in cloud security research. Share insights and best practices with the broader security community through publications, presentations, and technical blogs. Guide Research Focused Product Development: Influence the product development roadmap by integrating research findings into our cloud security products and services. Mentor and Develop Research Talent: Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development within the research team. Mentor emerging talents in cloud security research. Monitor Research Impact and Adapt Strategies: Regularly review the impact of the research on our cloud detections and customer security posture. Adapt and refine research strategies to align with evolving customer needs and threat landscapes.What You'll Need: Proven expertise in security research, methodologies, technologies, and tools. Minimum of 8 years in cybersecurity with a strong focus on security research, preferably Cloud or Linux Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within a research-oriented team. Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features. Familiarity with cloud automation and orchestration tools for optimizing security processes. Excellent conceptual thinking and communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas effectively. Demonstrated leadership abilities with a team-oriented approach and effective partnership skills. Proactive in process improvement and implementation.#LI-Remote
