Work you'll do
As a cloud engineer, you play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions. You are responsible for ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of cloud-based systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions based on business requirements.
Configuration Management: Manage and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and orchestration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring tools and practices to ensure system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Optimize resources based on usage patterns and demand using tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Athena.
Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce security best practices, conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaboration and Support: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to troubleshoot issues, provide technical guidance, and support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance and suggest improvements.

Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions
5+ years of experience with cloud platforms and their services (compute, storage, networking, databases). AWS experience required
5+ years' experience with automation and configuration management tools like Terraform (required), CloudFormation (required), Ansible (required)
5+ years' experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
2+ years of experience with serverless computing and microservices architecture
1+ year of experience with DevOps methodologies and tools
Bachelor's degree
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator are a plus
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR Engineering
Azure and GCP experience
Puppet experience
Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments and familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels of the organization
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000 to $166,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
