Job Summary:
The Cloud Database Engineer designs and builds Cloud database solutions that balance the need for speed, flexibility, and security of database and supporting infrastructure. As Allstate moves toward the cloud, there is a greater need for use of managed database offerings and SaaS database offerings. This role helps operationalize those services using modern practices, such as Infrastructure as Code. It requires the ability to synthesize radical ideas and the aptitude to define new database strategies in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineers and develops the database as a service aligning them with business strategies and requirementsChampions the engineering practices and helping teams define and setup frameworks for infrastructure as code and automationDefines and develops new products and services that provides functions- as-a-service to developers and customers; championing a seamless user experience for direct customersEngineer database and infrastructure monitoring that aligns with the enterprise strategyManage and maintains high availability designs and engineering for the different database platforms across cloud environmentsParticipate as an active member of Design & Build IT projects, steering Cloud configurations and services toward industry-leading security practices within domain expertiseEngineer and implement new Cloud database technologies to feed our DevOps/SecOps processes to ensure the solvency of Cloud computing resources. Thoroughly understand DevOps ideologies with the ability to drive and communicate change supporting DevOps/SecOps methodology within the organizationEvaluate and respond to alerts and events from the monitoring tools, including tuning of tool configuration to minimize false positives. Develop SOP documentation and processes for Network Operations Center to follow and appropriate escalation protocolDirects root cause analysis on complex incidents and leads the problem management discussions related to incidentsActs as client advocate, ensuring smooth implementation into application architecture and database standards
Education and Experience:
4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
5 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation offered for this role is $82,000.00-$146,125.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
