“Mercy Care is in search of a licensed clinical pharmacist” . Candidates must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
POSITION SUMMARY: This is a senior position responsible for overseeing in-clinic pharmacy operations at Mercy Care, Responsible for managing inventory of clinic-purchased medications; oversight of monitoring systems; support of 340b regulatory activities; providing clinical pharmacy support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses; and oversight of the pharmacies’ Drug Enforcement Authority license and controlled drug supply. This position will serve on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the 340b Oversight Committee. Will be responsible for coordinating self-audits of 340b operations. Coordinate with Information Services and Finance Department on issues related to ordering, dispensing, and billing of pharmaceuticals. May include including supervision of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other support staff.
*Provides patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Certification in HIV pharmacy preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 5 years related pharmacy experience. Experience in staff supervision and program development, program implementation and budgetary monitoring. Three years' experience in supervisory capacity. Direct experience with 340b pharmacy operations strongly preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must possess advanced professional knowledge of dispensing pharmacy operations with extensive knowledge of supervision and how to lead, knowledge of quality improvement processes within pharmacy operations, supervise staff and participate in planning and implementation of organizational goals and objectives. Must possess good knowledge of 340b regulatory requirements. Must be able to assess needs and evaluate outcomes. Ability to interact well with employees, to provide motivation, support and guidance to assigned staff.
The ability and legal right to drive in Georgia, including an active, current Georgia Drivers License, may be required.
Supervisory Responsibility for: Staff and assigned volunteers as assigned.
