The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health Professions at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Amarillo invites applications for a part-time (12-month) clinical faculty position in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at a Clinical Instructor level.
The appointment is in the entry-level DPT program at the Amarillo, TX campus and with the TTUHSC Physical Therapy Specialty Clinic. The DPT program on the Amarillo campus has approximately 36 students on-campus during the year. The Amarillo campus also has the TTUHSC PT Specialty Clinic located onsite. PT faculty evaluate and treat patients from the Amarillo and surrounding communities. Referrals come from within Texas Tech Physicians and other physicians in the area. The TTUHSC PT Specialty Clinic has been active for over 10 years and is growing.

Major/Essential Functions:
The candidate will primarily treat patients in the clinic and work with other PT faculty to see the clinic expand services to meet the needs of clients in the Texas Panhandle.
The successful candidate will also be a part of a student-focused DPT program with a record of innovation and excellence in educating entry-level physical therapy practitioners extending back 40 years.
Responsibilities of the faculty position include:
Teach occasional didactic lectures and lab courses in the entry-level DPT curriculum.
Guide and advise students in their clinical success and professional development.
Demonstrate a commitment toward building an equitable and diverse clinical environment.
Support the mission of the School through teaching and clinical service.
Support the vision of the University through innovation and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:
This is a clinical instructor level position and an ideal candidate will have:
Clinical experience in foundational skills, outpatient, and/or women's health.
At least 2 years experience in an OP setting.
Earned an entry-level DPT.
Be a board certified clinical specialist or significant experience in a clinical specialty area.
Have OP experience using EMR, coding and billing, and insurance authorization procedures.
