THIS IS A CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT POOL FOR APPLICANTS INTERESTED IN TEMPORARYCLINICAL EDUCATOR WORK WITH THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE HEARING SCIENCES DEPARTMENT ATMETROPOLITAN STATE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER.
The Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences (SLHS) and theMaster of Science in Speech Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program ofMetropolitan State University of Denver seeks speech-language pathologists(SLPs) to be part-time clinical educators. This isan hourly position withno benefits with varying hours per week, on an as-needed basis (PRN).
The Department is particularly interested in applicants who have experienceworking with clients across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds, alongwith a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education forunder-represented groups. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Applicants will provide as-needed supervision of graduate student cliniciansin the MSU Denver Speech Language Clinic and/or community-based sites asthey provide speech-language and cognitive-communication interventions forclients across the lifespan. Clinical Educatorswill review lesson plans andclinical documentation and provide timely feedback to graduate studentclinicians. Clinical Educators must be committed to graduate clinicaleducation and current professional practices and demonstrate ability toquickly learn and use several different technology platforms includingCanvas, ClinicNote, VALT and Calipso.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in speech-language pathologyCertification from American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA)Have completed a minimum of nine months of practice experiencepost-certification, andearned at least two hours of professional developmentpost-certification in the area of supervision and/or clinical instruction,and self-attestation on ASHA website
Preferred QualificationsAt least two years of experience mentoring graduate students and/or novicespeech language pathologistsExperience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urbanstudent population including (but not limited to) students of color,LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generationstudents, students with disabilities, undocumented students,non-traditional students, student veterans, and English-language learners.
