Job Summary
General
Effectively manages resources to maximize productivity and quality

Creates, implements and evaluates education, special projects and quality programs
Implements and leads staff development activities
Develops and teaches comprehensive curriculum
Provides staff orientation
Analyzes research and current practice to ensure adherence to evidence based practice
Supports/Leads process improvement processes
Infection Prevention
Leads infection prevention and control activities
Provides surveillance, analysis, trending and reporting of infections
Monitors quality of patient care, in an out-patient environment, utilizing the nursing process
Identifies and assesses the appropriateness and safety of care for known and potential problems; evaluates outcomes
Develops policies and procedures that meet regulatory agency compliance and standards of care
Serves as a knowledgeable and available resource for infection prevention/employee health for colleagues, staff, surveyors and other regulators
Primary Responsibilities:
General
Acts as a clinical resource to staff
Assists/leads accreditation activities
Participates on/leads committees, policy and procedure development, facility audits, special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned
Supports the Performance Improvement Program and Patient Safety Program
Education
Leads and develops programs including new hire orientation, initial and annual competency program,LearnSource Course development
Develops/supports educational programs for staff including Nursing Staff and Medical Assistants
Develops CEU programs for RN/LPN
Infection Prevention
Designs an infection control program and plan, organize and implement educational programs for all staff to ensure compliance with regulations; evaluates the effectiveness of the plan and modifies as necessary
Applies epidemiologic principles and statistical methods, including risk stratification to target population, analyze trends and risk factors, and design and evaluate prevention and control strategies
Conducts on-going surveillance using Center of Disease Control infection criteria, documentation, and monitoring / reporting of patients presenting with infectious disease
Conducts environmental rounds in all outpatient care areas; collects needed data

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing or related field
Active unrestricted RN license in the state of Colorado
BLS (Basic Life Support) and OLA (Office Laboratory Assistant)
5+ years of clinical nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in healthcare or nursing related field or currently enrolled in a graduate program
Emergency or other critical care experience
Education and/or infection prevention experience
Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $70,200 to $137,800 annually.
