If this sounds like a good fit to you, we are seeking applicants for a temporary up to 1385 hours per yearClient Services Technicianin our Foster Care Facility in Payette, Idaho.

  General Information:

  Client Services Technicians (CSTs) supervise court-ordered visitations between children in the department's care and the parents/guardians to ensure safe conditions are maintained.

  CSTs transport children to and from visits and appointments, as well as a myriad of other important coordination activities.

  The Client Services Technician must be able to lift and carry items weighing approximately 50 pounds, and to perform physical work such as lifting and carrying children, car seats, and boxes.

  Temporary positions are limited to working 1,385 hours in a 12-month period for any one state agency. Employees are eligible for benefits if they work twenty (20) hours or more per week and the term of employment is expected to exceed five (5) continuous months.

  The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. In addition, successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

  EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  Provide transportation and support services to child welfare clients in a variety of settings.

  Act as a role model and monitor family and child visits and report observations.

  Monitor client follow-through and achievement of goals and agreements, including court agreements.

  Mentor and coach parents on providing age appropriate, interactions, redirection, supervision and write progress notes.

  Guide clients in completing documents necessary to implement services.

  Explain applicable laws, policies, and procedures to clients.

  Teach skills such as money/budgeting, parenting, personal hygiene, and social skills.

  Instruct clients in homemaking, daily living, and job attainment skills.

  Testify in court regarding parents' interactions and abilities in parenting their children.

  Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with teams and service providers.

  Develop documents in Word using a computer; enters information in child welfare database.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.

  Good knowledge of home sanitation and safety.Typically gained by completion of a health or home economics course covering home sanitation and safety OR home schooling or training covering home sanitation and safety.

  Experience working with clients who may be behaviorally, socially, physically, and/or mentally challenged. Typically gained by six months' experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar environment OR as a home healthcare provider, working with clients who are behaviorally, socially, physically, and/or mentally challenged.

  Experience observing and recording clients' behaviors, treatment responses, and progress. Typically gained by at least six months' work experience charting or tracking client information in a professional care setting OR through employment as a home healthcare provider.

  Ability to speak, read and write English. This is required so that you are able to chart and record clients' behaviors, treatment responses, and progress; to read and explain laws, policies, and procedures to clients; and may assist clients with writing letters or completing forms.

  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. This is required so that you are able to assist clients with their budgets, purchases, and other tasks requiring basic arithmetic.

  Experience using ordinary home appliances and performing routine homemaking tasks. Typically gained by at least six months' experience completing these tasks OR completion of a home economics course.

  A valid driver's license.
