General Summary:
The Client Development Specialist (CDS) is instrumental to the success of the core market teams. As a contributing member of the core market team, the CDS will be responsible for mining the block for cross-sell opportunities and supporting sales, co-owning market development, enrollment, and re-enrollment. The CDS will also be responsible for quote coordination and follow up. The CDS will be closely tied to the sales team in the territories/offices and in daily contact with other internal and external partners.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Enrollment and Re-Enrollment Coordination and Support
Provide overall support to Sales Team for enrollment activitiesSupport core market team in procuring enrollment resources and marketing materialsCompletion and submission of case submission formAssist with Benefit Counselor coordinationMay coordinate local benefit fair activities
Drive Sales Support & Market Development Activities
Support pre-sale, preparation of presentations, broker call prep, customized marketing materials, benchmarking and competitor analysis Provide effective competitive product analysis for prospectsProvide Brokers with marketing materials and other information on an ad-hoc basis Support local marketing initiatives that drive and promote specific market agendaAssist with delivering customer forumsWork with appropriate database to develop target marketing programs for brokers
Proactive Mining and execution of the Inforce Block for Cross-Sell Opportunities
Proactive review and analysis of inforce block; manage/monitor process to support identification of cross-selling opportunities; drive quote process with Sales team; work closely with internal team on complex quotes and proactive quotes from inforce blockCompile broker summary profiles and provide profit and persistency analysisMay partner as needed on block renewal programs and leverage customer expansion opportunitiesResponsible for managing and executing all inforce block management customer expansion programs in partnership with the core market teamAssist Sales Team with delivering broker development programsSupport all rework/renewal activities as needed
Client Acquisition Support
Coordinate Quote activity for Home Office sized cases - send quotes to Home Office (>500 lives)Provide Request For Proposal questionnaire support on large cases and create quote package for rep and brokerWork closely with Rep, Broker and and other internal partners to follow-up on quote activity and gather missing information to ensure full submission/financial recognitionMay perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$45,600.00-$82,100.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
