Civil/Structural Engineer
We are searching for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team inGolden, CO! This position is full-time located on-site and remote.
Compensation: $120,000-$135,000 annually with a great benefits package!
Scope of Work
This position provides Facilities Civil/Structural Engineer will oversightengineering services provided by the Site Operations' (Site Ops)Architecture and Engineering Support (AES) group for operations andconstruction projects in support of the research mission at Facilities.General duties include scope definition and the preparation and review ofsubcontract statements of work, cost estimating, and preparation ofinternal drawings, specifications, and calculations. This position shallfunction as the Subject Mater Expert (SME) for civil/structuralengineering act
Prepare internal construction drawings, specifications, calculations andproject cost estimates for design and construction projects to comply withuser needs, Design Guidelines, codes, and best practices.Assist Project Managers with scope definition and statement of work forcivil/structural construction projects.Develop independent cost estimates, review external and internal projectdrawings, specifications, and calculations at the 50%, 90% and100% progress intervals.Review RFIs, ASIs, shop drawings, product submittals and coordinationdrawings.Attend construction meetings, site observations and final punch walks toprovide technical guidance.Attend stakeholder meetings to assist researchers with defining project scopeand budget for future project requests.Evaluate current infrastructure capacity to determine and establish futureexpansion capabilities and needs.Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in civil engineering withstructural engineering experience.Function as the Civil Engineering SME for the MS4 Permit, Traffic andSafety, Site Bridge and Tunnel Program, Utility Locates Verification,and Site Condition Assessment for the STM and Flatirons Campus.Lead the process for regular updates to the PMEC Design Guidelines, MasterConstruction Specifications, and engineering best practices for area of SME.Coordinate with the Site Ops Facility Managers and Site Ops Project Team leadsto resolve deficiencies defined as maintenance or projects and then definefurther as either the GPMR and/or Small Works.backlog project list so they can be prioritized and scheduled as funds areavailable.Prepare scope and estimates for any noted deficiencies to aid in theplanning, prioritization, and scheduling of the work.Lead engineering team to evaluate current infrastructure capacity to determineand establish future expansion capabilities and needs.Assist Environmental, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q),Facility Managers, and other personnel with the development of lab levelprocedures and hazard assessments where needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado in Civil orability to obtain registration within 12 months.Understanding of the use and capability of specialized software applicationsincluding computer aided design systems (e.g., AutoCAD), MS Word, MSExcel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.Multi-disciplinary engineering experience with broad knowledge of facility andbuilding systems and structures, relevant building codes, and supportingfacility and site infrastructure (utility distribution systems, siteimprovements, etc.) for commercial and industrial facilities.Knowledge of standard construction techniques and practices includingexperience with field observation of construction activities.Experience with performing and managing engineering designs as well asmanaging A/E consultants/subcontractors.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field with 5 ormore years' experience, or equivalent combination of education a drelevant experience.
