As a Civil Engineer in Training, you will perform engineering work under close supervision of a Professional Engineer. You will have the opportunity to apply professional concepts and expands upon learning while performing various phases of engineering work receiving detailed instruction.
Your Key Responsibilities
Candidate will assist engineering and administrative staff with such tasks as:
You will use knowledge of general concepts of civil engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support engineering projects such as pipelines, tunnels, water and sewage systems.
You will perform basic calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
You will assist your team in preparing civil designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
You will assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
You will have the chance to collaborate with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
You will assist your team in providing support services during construction that may include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Exposure to software applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcMap/GIS, SWMM a plus.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail orientated and capable of working independently on assigned tasks.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
Education and Experience
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from accredited institution.
Minimum of 0-2 years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EIT certification is preferred, however, you may still be considered if you’re able to successfully obtain your EIT certification within 12 months of employment.
