About the role
Our growing Transport Delivery business delivers infrastructure design across state government, municipal, and private sector with focus on MRPV, NELA and MAR Projects.
In this newly created Civil Drafting and Digital Engineering (DE) Lead position you will work closely with our Transport Delivery team to plan, conduct and coordinate design assignments, involving several smaller and higher revenue major infrastructure projects, of varying complexities by providing accurate and efficient design services, as well as leading, managing and growing a drafting team.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Participate in short and long-term planning and make independent decisions on drafting / design policies and procedures within an overall program.
Supervise drawings / designs using standard methods and techniques. (PTV, DTP, VicRoads, Council standards)
Complete, review and validate design drawings and documentation with a high focus on quality
Lead, guide, manage and work alongside a team of drafters and identify opportunities to develop staff
Develop and implement training curriculums to support CAD & BIM technologies. Provide learning support through coaching and sharing of knowledge.
Provide Strong CAD & BIM design leadership and advice to the BU through Regional DE Lead, Group Leaders and Business Leader.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualifications in Drafting or Engineering and/or relevant equivalent work experience
Experience in the operation of software design tools including AutoCAD packages and MicroStation
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to solve problems utilising existing procedures and develop new procedures
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability to work well in a team environment.
