The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.SCOPE OF POSITION:The Seasonal Kettle Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the day -to- day operations of the Christmas Kettle Fundraising Program. This will include but is not limited to: scheduling and supervision of staff and volunteers as well as strategic planning throughout the red kettle season.Essential Functions:Ensures all equipment (signs, stands, kettles, bells, aprons, kettle locks, etc.) are clean and in good working order.Works with Christmas Drivers to ensure kettles signs and stands are delivered and stored according to store manager instructions prior to the first day of kettles.Contact all store managers by letter or phone to seek their permission to establish a kettle site at their location. Acquires necessary paperwork for each site.Has experience scheduling staff and making changes quickly as situations evolve.Develops and distributes weekly Bell Ringer/Driver schedules, coordinating with the Volunteer Coordinator to incorporate a goal of 50% volunteer Bell Ringers.Collects and verifies daily time slips for all paid staff to ensure accuracy prior to submitting to Finance Manager.Troubleshoots issues that may hinder successful daily kettle operations.Monitors Bell Ringer site productivity and works with Business Operations Manager to adjust schedules as necessary.Becomes familiar with and ensures seasonal staff and volunteers maintain property Protecting the Mission compliance.Adheres to employee dress codes while working.Other seasonal duties as assigned by Business Operations Manager and Corps OfficersWorking Conditions:Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, run, jump and twist on an intermittent and sometimes continuous basis.Ability to maintain grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, reach overhead, and carry office supplies.Maintain the ability to operate a computer, telephone, and similar technologies.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.Minimum Qualifications:Must submit to and pass a background check.Must complete Online "Know Your Policies" and "Decision Driver" trainings.Must possess a valid Driver's LicenseMust be a minimum of 21 years old.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Must possess the ability to work as part of a dynamic, high-performing team and maintain confidentiality.Must have the ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and communicate well with the general public.Willingness to accept and support the mission of The Salvation Army.Be flexible and open to new ideas, concepts, and ways of doing things while keeping pace with multiple priorities.Possesses the ability to work well independently and in a detailed, professional, and courteous manner.Excellent scheduling skills with an ability to change plans at a moment's notice due to last-minute absences and store availability.Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.Must be able to enter data into Microsoft Word and Excel.Able to pass a motor vehicle check as well as complete The Salvation Army driving test.Possesses a willingness to periodically drop-off and pick up kettles and toys.The position description has been assigned to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this classification.
