Join a new and exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic program dedicated to protecting national security through premier mission-focused IT services. Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career-driven zero-trust Chief Architect to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD. As the lead architect, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical success of a 200-person team engaged in Identity, Credential, Access, Management (ICAM) services. You will be advancing Zero Trust Maturity through the User Pillar, leading a program providing engineering, software engineering, design, development, testing/evaluation, integration/deployment, sustainment, and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities:
Offering expert insights into Zero Trust and staying abreast of emerging trends in cybersecurity.
Leading Zero Trust initiatives for Intelligence Community and Defense Clients, assuming the role of technical lead and primary client interface.
Developing and reporting on the overall Zero Trust delivery strategy and roadmap for client.
Engaging with standards and working groups such as NIST, CISA, Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), and others.
Participating in business development activities, including responding to RFPs and other proposals.
Ensuring the fulfillment of customer delivery and requirements with a focus on exceeding expectations for high customer CPARS ratings.
Designing and implementing a comprehensive Zero Trust strategy, guiding client stakeholders, and conducting current state cybersecurity assessments.
Architecting and overseeing the deployment of Zero Trust principles across the enterprise, with emphasis on network security, data encryption, identity and credential management, and application security.
Leading Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) initiatives to establish robust identity governance, multifactor authentication, and stringent authorization aligned with Zero Trust pillars.
Designing and implementing network segmentation strategies, ensuring isolation of critical assets, and implementing zero-trust-based traffic inspection and monitoring.
Establishing and enforcing data protection measures, including encryption, data classification, and secure data handling practices in alignment with Zero Trust principles.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to provide expert guidance and foster a security-focused culture, while adhering to Federal security policies.
Conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing proactive strategies to mitigate risks across network and data domains in line with Zero Trust principles.
Developing and maintaining security policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with Zero Trust tenets and Federal regulations, with a specific focus on network and data security.
Evaluating and recommending cutting-edge security technologies, tools, and solutions that support Zero Trust, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and cost-effectiveness in network and data protection.
Ensuring adherence to Federal security regulations and reporting requirements, providing comprehensive documentation and reports on security postures and progress, particularly within network and data domains.
Occasionally traveling outside of the National Capital Region. to support assessment, recommendation, and implementation at client IC and Defense customer.
Qualifications:
Relevant certifications, such as, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Zero Trust Architect (CZTA).
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
A minimum of (10) ten years in cybersecurity, with a focus on Zero Trust architecture and the User Pillar.
Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering Zero Trust projects for federal clients.
In-depth knowledge of Zero Trust principles, strategies, and best practices, with a specific emphasis on the User Pillar.
Extensive experience in implementing and managing Zero Trust frameworks within complex environments.
Hands-on expertise in designing and deploying user-centric security measures, including identity and access management, multifactor authentication, and authorization controls.
Strong technical skills in areas such as network security, data encryption, and application security.
Proven leadership skills in guiding cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive Zero Trust strategy aligned with organizational goals and client needs.
Strategic mindset with a focus on anticipating and mitigating future cybersecurity challenges.
Familiarity with federal regulations and compliance standards relevant to cybersecurity, especially those related to Zero Trust frameworks.
Experience conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing proactive risk mitigation strategies within the context of Zero Trust.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with Zero Trust principles.
Demonstrated ability to stay updated on emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and tools.
Proactive approach to evaluating and recommending cutting-edge security solutions supporting the Zero Trust architecture.
Experience in evaluating and managing relationships with vendors providing security technologies and solutions.
Understanding of business needs and the ability to align security strategies with overall organizational objectives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in addressing security challenges.
Flexibility and adaptability to navigate evolving cybersecurity landscapes and technologies.
Ability to foster a collaborative and security-focused culture within the organization.
Experience with Agile values and principles for project management
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications such as IDPro, Forrester's Adopting Zero Trust certification, CISSP
A master's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
Familiar with emerging ICAM and Cyber concepts such as Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must hold a TS/SCI clearance
Must hold a polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
