Job Description:Supervises staff and provides culinary expertise in foodpreparation service, assuring proper production techniques, portioncontrol and plating standards are applied according to menu, recipe, anddepartment standards.
Position Details:2 available positions. 1 position will be a mixture of days (mornings),the other position will be a mixture of days (evenings). Flexibility isrequired in this role to assist with coveragePay Range (updated): $17.29 - $23.97
Scope1.Leads the work of the associates in the department. Acts as a resource andprovides technical support.2. Assists with creating new and substitute menu items.3. Reviews menus daily to determine quantities of food and supplies needed.4. Prepares food for cafeteria and catering using creativity, quality,consistency, and promptness.5. Services as resource to educate/coach follow and comply with recipestandards. Demonstrate various cooking techniques.6. Monitors and replenishes food as needed for cafeteria, catering, orpatient trays.7. Ensures food is being handled and stored to Hazardous Analysis of CriticalControl Point (HACCP) guidelines.8. Operates various types of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness.Records temperatures of refrigerators. Ensures equipment is in good workingcondition.9. Monitors supply and equipment inventory. Notifies leadership team of neededequipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Ensures compliancewith applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policiesand procedures and safety standards.10. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides byservice behavior standards.11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
ServeSaf certification to be acquired within 6 months of hire
PreferredHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Experience in a healthcare facility, such as health care food service ispreferred Minimum 6 months experience in quantity food preparation,preferably in a healthcare setting is preferred
