Description:
Position Purpose:
The Charge Entry and Registration Clerk is responsible for entering all office, hospital, and nursing home charges from fee tickets into NextGen, and provider-based clinic charges into Cerner. Responsible for entering professional charges for ER providers and wound clinic providers into NextGen. This position also registers encounters in NextGen and HealthQuest.
What You Will Do:
Enters accurately all office, hospital, and nursing home charges into NextGen, and provider-based clinic facility and ancillary charges into Cerner from fee slips or reports completed by coders.
Applies modifiers in NextGen and HealthQuest as indicated by coders.
Organizes and prioritizes daily work.
Registers encounters in NextGen and HealthQuest paying careful attention to detail resulting in a maximum error rate of 2 percent.
Attends all required educational training.
Working knowledge of Metaviewer.
Maintains professional relationship with primary customer groups.
Recognizes coding and registration errors and routes back to supervisor for review.
Hours:
Fulltime/ Monday - Friday / No weekend and Holidays
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Post high school education is desirable. A course in medical terminology and knowledge of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding is preferred.
