The Role:
Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products! The Change Implementation Coordinator role will be responsible for coordinating Production Trial Runs (PTR’s) on future parts in the assembly plant. Candidate will work with Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality Engineering, Production, and other departments within the plant to determine timing, number of PTR vehicles needed and documenting PTR status – pass/fail. The Change Implementation Coordinator (CIC) responsibilities will include tracking Engineering Work Orders (EWO’s) and documenting the first vehicle VIN, to ensure traceability requirements are met. Work performed under general supervision while exercising significant independent judgment. This role will primarily support 1st shift however, may require flexing to 2nd shift as needed to support PTR activities on 2nd shift.
What You’ll Do:
Coordinates and implements the scheduling of material to the assembly plant for PTR's. Also, will supply information for updates to the plant various departments within the plant.
Oversee ECM inbox for new EWOs at IMPL 50.
IMPL 50 agreement for Traceability: capture the 1st vehicle VIN at pay point on the day the EWO first breakpoints or the actual VIN the EWO starts. Record in ECM and Agreement.
Provides support in managing special build events (prototypes, functional builds, MVB’s, PTR's, interim programs, start of acceleration).
Receive and control pilot material shipped directly by suppliers.
Assists plant production and material planners during and prior to all build events.
Works with Production and Quality to facilitate coordinated PTR’s.
Support TWO’s & TWO Coordinator as needed.
Review TWO information with key partners in the plant and determine if TWO platform can be used as PTR.
Primary point of contact with suppliers for production trial run readiness and execution and BTAB’s/Tool Moves, working with Tactical Operations, Purchasing and Supplier.
Willing to be able to rotate to 2nd shift to support PTR activities as needed.
Additional Job Description
Your Skills and Abilities:
1-3 years’ experience with Change Implementation/PTR experience within a Manufacturing Environment
Ability to effectively communicate across multiple functions including Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, plant floor and hourly employees.
Strong Project Management and problem-solving skills
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:
Bachelor’s degree or higher education
Preferred experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM), Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, plant floor material flow processes and MGO – Material Global Optimization.
Experience in an Automotive/Manufacturing- Assembly Plant (OEM/Tier I Supplier)
Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
