A Front Row Seat to InnovationPosition Purpose- The Clinical Assistant role is critical to the care ourfamilies recieve at Children's Hospital Colorado. This position serves as asystem-wide resource, by assisting patients and families in personal hygieneand daily living needs while ensuring they are comfortable and stable throughvital sign monitoring. If so,Qualifications:EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent is required.CERTIFICATION(S) -Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider bythe American Heart Association is required.Designation as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Medical Assistant(MA), and/or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.Proof of successful completion of health assessment and nursing foundationcourses, in addition to basic medical/surgical clinical rotation in anaccredited nursing program may be considered in lieu of designation as aCNA, MA and/or EMT.LICENSURE - Current Colorado state CNA license or Current Colorado stateEmergency Medical Technician-Basic or A-EMT or EMT-IntermediateJob Highlights:Attends to the individual needs of patients, which may include assistancewith grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care,toileting, transferring, providing comfort and communicating patient needswith other members of the healthcare team.Performs various tasks as assigned, including checking vital signs,weighing patients, applying creams/ointments, applying/changingdressings and collecting specimens.Meets patient needs by utilizing resources and materials; transportingpatients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reportingobservations of the patient to healthcare team members.Serves as a conduit between patients and other healthcare providers byrecording and communicating all issues to medical team members.
