Responsibilities:Responds to call lights and resident needs
Assists resident in maintaining independence in activities of daily living (ADL)
Bathes, dresses, and undresses residents.
Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help.
Transports residents or assists residents to walk.
Drapes residents for examinations and treatments, and assists licensed staff with treatment/examination within the CNA scope of practice.
Turns and re-positions bedfast residents, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores.
Obtains and records vital signs, weights, input and output as needed.
Documents care provided in the electronic medical record.
Monitors for changes in residents are reports to nursing staff as warranted.
Ensure cleanliness of work environment and equipment
Pick up resident rooms and empty trash
Participates in all in-service programs to expand and develop abilities. Maintains compliance to all personnel policies, established community policies and procedures, and Federal and State regulations and standards, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy and confidentiality laws. Understands and implements the Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Plan and evacuation procedures of the community during drills and actual emergencies.
Performs various treatments not requiring license nurse (hot/cold applications, vital signs, weights, etc.).
Comply with all community policies and procedures, including infection prevention and control.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Nurse’s Aide certification in the appropriate State.
Obtain a TFER (Texas Food Establishment Rules) food handler certification within 60 days upon hire
