Duties include getting the patient ready to be seen by the primaryprovider by taking their vital signs, discussing their medical history,and finishing clinical or administrative tasks by putting patientinformation into medical records. Certified Medical Assistants may alsohelp physicians and nurses with tasks like getting equipment orrecording data during patient exams. Typical Daily Tasks ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Illustrative Only. Provides immunization services at the GrantsPass immunization clinic and on-site vaccine events, includingadministration of vaccines to infants, children, adolescents, andadults, while providing evidence-based education and following clinicalguidelines. Assist Vaccine Coordinator, RNs and FNP providing technicalassistance to schools and childcare centers related to annualimmunization rate reporting requirements. Provides requested servicesduring community vaccine and testing events. Maintains up-to-dateknowledge and skills to comply with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)Vaccines For Children (VFC) program including proper vaccine storage,handling, and product information. Ongoing professional development toparticipate, lead, coordinate, and design a variety of projects topromote optimal health in the communities we serve. Champions and iscompliant with regulations pertaining to medical record management andpatient confidentiality. (i.e., HIPAA) Monitors assigned work area\'smedical inventory, equipment, or durable/ sellable goods, as may beassigned. Phlebotomy and other specimen preparation, collection, andprocessing for lab. Preparing patients for examination by taking vitalsand reviewing registration/intake paperwork. Help coordinate follow upcare by making appointments and initiating referrals. Act as dailyadministrative support including case management and appointmentscheduling for the RNs serving the Juvenile Justice population.Crosstrain to cover various clinic areas, including patient front deskcheck in. Set up exam rooms; Clean and restock exam and laboratory roomsdaily. Provide excellent customer service: in person, over the phone,and virtually. Other duties as assigned.
