The Central Investigations & Cybersecurity team is dedicated to keeping users of Meta technologies safe. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced investigator who will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging, high-visibility risks the company faces and the opportunity to have a substantial impact.We are seeking an investigator with experience in understanding and mitigating child safety issues, as well as networks that may look to facilitate the coordination of harm against minors and vulnerable populations. In addition to having a strong investigative and analytical background, we are seeking an investigator who has experience making risk-based decisions and who is passionate about protecting people. The successful candidate will be able to assess and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and proactively collaborate with teams across the company. Central Investigations Analyst (Child Safety), (12 months STE) Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of safety issues and how they impact Meta, our products and our communities, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to target minors and vulnerable populationsInvestigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats that may manifest on Meta technologies and platformsIndependently manage multiple analyses at once while effectively prioritizing timeIdentify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harmWork cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering and Integrity partners to improve the detection of behavior that violates our Community StandardsGather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to identify potential abuseWork with graphic and sensitive content on a regular basisMinimum Qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalentProfessional experience in investigations or analysis in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domainsSubject matter knowledge on child safety and related issues, especially pertaining to various social media platforms, analytical tools, and online research toolsInvestigative or analytical experience related to online harms against children and vulnerable populationsExcellent analytical and investigative skills combined with the ability to quickly assess large amounts of data in order to detect critical and credible informationExperience working with sensitive issues that include graphic violence, a variety of religious and political views, and adult contentAbility to work independently under high pressure situations and make sound decisions with little to no supervisionExperience and inclination to protect highly confidential informationPreferred Qualifications:
Fluent in Portuguese (especially Brazilian Portuguese), Spanish, French, or other languages, as the analyst may deal with issues in non-English speaking marketsKnowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analytics programming coding languages and data visualization toolsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenExperience conducting child safety investigations, or similar, on behalf of a technology companyAbout Meta:
