MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent experience2. Must be MT(ASCP) registered or equivalent experience MT (AMT), HT (ASCP) (HistologyEXPERIENCE:1. Must have 2-4 years' experience which has provided opportunities to refine competencies in professional practice

Provides functional supervision of the laboratory.Obtains blood specimens and performs various laboratory tests, based on area of assignment, by performing venipuncture and fingersticks to obtain blood if necessaryAssists in reviewing, recommending, and developing laboratory proceduresKeeps abreast of new developments and assists in conductions training programs for Staff TechnologistsInsures that the cleanliness and readiness of the laboratory and related equipment is maintainedInsures that accurate records and files are maintained and prepares various periodic reportsMaintains the inventory and purchase of supplies for daily operation of the sectionParticipates in the evaluation of new equipment and toubleshooting present equipmentMaintains effective communication with laboratory sections, hospital departments, physician offices, etcPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
