Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to join our team with a primary focus on contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in negotiating favorable contracts with suppliers, building and maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring consistent supplier performance. They will play a critical role in optimizing procurement costs and driving value for Hitachi Energy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead contract negotiation efforts for assigned categories, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable terms and conditions, and alignment with company policies.Develop and implement supplier relationship management strategies to foster long-term partnerships, enhance collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.Establish and maintain clear communication channels with suppliers, addressing any issues promptly and effectively.Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with supplier relationships.Implement supplier performance metrics and monitor supplier performance against key indicators (KPIs), ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, and cost expectations.Negotiate contract renewals and extensions, ensuring ongoing alignment with business needs and market dynamics.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of supplier relationships and procurement strategies.Stay up-to-date on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to supplier relationships and contract negotiation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.2-5 years of experience in category management, procurement, or a related field with a strong focus on contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing complex contracts with suppliers.Proficient in MS Office Suite and procurement software applications.Excellent communication skills in English and ideally GermanOutstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex procurement matters to both internal and external stakeholders.Strong organizational and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
