As part of our Camera Technologies group, you'll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Systems Engineering group is responsible for the simulation, calibration and analysis of multi-camera systems. Our calibration procedures guarantee excellent performance by compensating for manufacturing variations across Apple products with camera, including Apple Vision Pro. The team is seeking an outstanding camera color engineer with experience in color science, vision and optics to develop models, apparatus, and methods necessary to implement next generation of color technology for cameras. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining camera color performance for Apple Vision products. As a multi-functional contributor you will have understanding of color capture and reproduction in a seamless blend of digital and physical world!

　　Expertise in color science, including color measurement, analysis and perceptual interpretation when blending digital and physical world Expertise in measurement science and ability to relate measurement accuracy to international standards and fundamental physics Experience with calibration and correction algorithms and procedures Familiarity with spectrometers, monochromators and machine vision cameras Exposure to optical concepts, optical design and camera technology Broad knowledge of engineering concepts (EE, ME, SW, data analysis, modeling) Expertise in Matlab and familiarity with Python (knowledge of C/C++ is an added benefit. Good organization and solid writing skills Great interpersonal skills - the ability to collaborate across groups

　　- Systems-level analysis and simulation of physical systems in terms of spectral/color response of camera components - Color measurement and interpretation in terms of impact to image quality - Define novel and detailed specs for color fidelity from capture to reproduction - Defining, documenting, publishing and maintaining the systems architectures and system specifications for color calibration procedures - Color accuracy analysis using tolerance stack and Monte Carlo methods - Development of test system prototypes, including HW, FW and SW - Analysis of large data sets to validate system performance (JMP, Python, etc.)

　　At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
